Hi,
I have a problem..like in my project i have 4 dropdownlsit
and i extended the dropdownlist say 3 & 4 with CascadingDropDown..and it works fine..
but the problem is that when i select dropdownlist 1 then the control goes to the asmx method ie,what we mapped for dropdownlist 3...it's an unwanted code execution.....
pls suggest me..

I"m sorry, but to even ask this shows you have no idea what ASP.NET is, or how it works. ASP.NET is an engine to generate HTML. HTML/javascript cannot interact with a scanner. Simply not possible.
You may be able to write a java or .NET plugin that a user has to download and run, which may be able to use TWAIN. It's possible. ASP.NET ? No way.

And... what's wrong with good old proven technology of scanning an image in whatever application you use, and upload the file to your ASP.NET website. ASP.NET's support for handling images and image types is great! However, Christian already cleared out there's no way you can interact with the scanner itself!

Hello!
I've created a report which I'm loading it into a CrystalReportViewer in Visual Studio 2005. When I run it the next and previous buttons don't work correctly. It goes to page 2 ok but after that it wont move to page 3. I can type in the page number and it will go to the right page. If I'm on the last page and select the previous button it goes all the way back to page 1.
Has anyone else come across this problem and perhaps solved it?

you have page_init and page_load. For the paging you should use page_init. ohterwise you reset it each time the report loads.

In what way do you mean I should use page_init? Pass reportdocument to viewer?
EDIT: Passin reportdocument in Page_Init instead of Page_Load solved it, thanks a bunch!

The page itself is just text, so of course you can serialise it. The HTML that the page generates is also just text, so you can serialise that, too.

the above method helps me to serialize the objects.
when i call GetSerialized(this) in my aspx page it is throwing the below exception

I can't think of a single sensible reason to want to do this. However, seeing as the page class simply generates HTML, I would think that if you want to store a page, storing the HTML would suffice.

You can use javascript on that. Onblur event of textbox you can clear textbox value.

Hi,
It is better to use a client side script for this.You can use the following javascript code and call the same in the OnFocus event of the textbox.
Insert this js in the aspx page in a script tag.
function clearText(txtId)
{
if(document.getElementById(txtId).value=="Enter Text")

document.getElementById(txtId).value="";
}
}
And add this code to the codebehind file.
TextBox1.Attributes.Add("OnFocus", "clearText('" + TextBox1.ClientID + "')");
