hi,
i developed a asp.net website......it run on my system.....then i upload the only default.aspx page.......when i open the default.aspx page on internet (
then default.aspx display but there are no any tool display ,which i used on the default.aspx.
where is problem?
is only .aspx enough or other files are requried with .aspx file?

No, u need to upload all the files related to ur website.
The other way to do is creating appilcation of ur files...
Build -> Publish Website
U will get an application
Just copy this in ur domain space

This is Ashrith.
I have developed a web application.
The application works perfectly on my local machine.
But when I host the application on my domain space, I find the following problems with it:
1. Cannot be able to register.
When I try to register on the site, the same page is being shown.
2. Content not written to XML file.
I have some content in the database which should be written to an XML file when my website is visited and the same is displayed to the user.
What might be the problem?
Please help me.

I have no idea what you're trying to say here. We don't know what you mean by 'register' or 'the same page is being shown'. Please elaborate more, with such as an error message (if there is one), or more relevant details.

Perhaps no write permissions are specified on the directory that the file is being written to.

I am looking to add a chat service to my website. I have read that there are 2 differnt ways of doing this. 1: The traditional way of polling the web server for new messages using ajax.
2: The comet way of connecting to the server using ajax and never closing the connection so the server can push messages to the client.
My questions are about the difference in preformance and are there any differences in the bandwidth usage? Basically which is the best way.

Thanks for the reply, I have seen other places that pushing is better than pulling but only if your server can handle the connections of multiple users. I also heard that the client can only have 2 open http conections. I dont know what that means interms of preformance. I hope there is someone who has more knowledge on this subject.

However, there is still a small question that I have.
In case when a Web Server specifies an alternate web address for a new web server (i.e. where it wants to redirect the user) in the Location Header, then will the user be automatically redirected there, or she has to click on some link ?
I have browsed through all documentations, but could not find any information regarding this.

It's up to the client (web browser, usually) to decide how to react. Depending on the exact status code, most will automatically redirect.

But let me elaborate my confusion: one of the documents that I read, say that, the "user issues a GET command on the HTTP location header and is redirected to the destination site". As I understand, this header value is invisible to the user, so how does he issue a GET command on it? Maybe I am misunderstandings something. That is why I thought there is an error in the text, and the user is automatically redirected to the new web site.

The user issues a GET request by telling his client software to retrieve a URL. GET requests are how client software retrieves HTTP URLs. The client software is then also responsible for handling the Location header, retrieving the URL indicated by it, etc.
