Hard coding this is a bad practice. Once you changes the content place holder name, your script will stop functioning. You should use ClientId which is the correct solution.

They look different, the only issue you will have is that sln files will open in 2003 if you double click them.

I am sorry for stupid title, but I don't know how to name the thread.
Anyway, I am working on a web admin panel and I have a problem about object reference.
I know what this error mean, but what I don't know is why I reload some page 1000 times and I try to reload it 1001 time, and I get object reference?
Sometimes is on if (dataReader.Read()) and sometimes on if ((bool)Session["SomeText"]).
Can session be abandoned this way?
Before this if's, I have another if (in session_start in global.asax) that verifies whether session is null or not.
Does anyone have an idea what could be a problem?
|
|
|
|
|
I guess if your database connection fails, you get a dataReader back that is null, and you're not checking it. And, I guess your session must be timing out. I always check if a session variable is null before I try to convert it to anything. In fact, I'd tend to wrap it in a property that does exactly that, so it's written once and used every time.

I've added check if connection is opened, but unfortunately, I have to wait to see if error comes again , but I definitely have to change some things in my code.
Your session property sounds great. I have to implement that.
Thank you Christian and best regards.

I want to load an image into an image control on page postback
the images in the folder are loaded in a listbox then when the user clicks onteh image it loads inthe listbox, but the image nerver loads..
Plz help
This is my code
Partial Class Photos
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Dim imageString As String
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
If Not Page.IsPostBack Then
Dim ImageFolder As String = Server.MapPath("~\Images\Photos\")
Dim dir As New IO.DirectoryInfo(ImageFolder)
Dim fifo As IO.FileInfo
For Each fifo In dir.GetFiles
ListBox1.Items.Add(fifo.Name.ToString)
Next
End If
If Page.IsPostBack Then
Image2.ImageUrl = Server.MapPath("~\Images\Photos\" + imageString)
End If
End Sub
Protected Sub ListBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ListBox1.SelectedIndexChanged
imageString = ListBox1.SelectedItem.Value.ToString
aspxlab.Text = imageString
End Sub
End Class

It will load, you just need to click a few times. Your problem ( as you'd notice if you set some breakpoints to try to debug your code ) is that page_load occurs BEFORE your events fire. You need to set the imageURl inside your event, or in the prerender event, which fires after click events.
And, please tell me you are not writing a project with a control called ListBox1.

Hi dear.
my question from host admin :
((((
I recieve this error in my site :
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application
is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same
validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster
I recieved this error in some different situation. this site worked in another host with out any
problem. I recieved this error in my onother site in your hostI think there is a
problem in web.config
}}}}
and host admin response:

This is a bug of Microsoft, when you use some data controls of .net, in some case like post back
when data load not finished reading from database it will be happen.
And you can disable viewStateEncryptionMode on your web.config or your pages that issue happend,
but
it will be less safety for your data, but it is the fact, so it's up to you, or you can wait
MS
to fix it.
)))
I dont know what can I do now. how I can solve my problem.
please help

Do what you were told to do, add the attribute to the page that turns off view state encryption.

do you know correct syntax of this attribute?

Relying on intellisense, which shows you all the options if you just look, I'd guess it's one of these:
ViewStateEncryptionMode="Never" EnableEventValidation="false"

If this is a microsoft bug, there is an article about it. Did you get any link to such an article from the host admin?

Hy guys, I have a question about images in SQL databses.
When I am in database table viewer in Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and I am entering data into the table, how do I insert image into the image-type field? What are the pre-conditions for inserting a picture (which is on my hard drive) to image-type field in database?
Thank you for your time.
Cheers

I am not sure if that's what the image type is for, because your DB will have no idea if the byte array you pass it is a bitmap. Have you googled for info ? I would suggest the best bet is to store the image in the file system, and store paths in your DB, but there's no reason you can't store the image data in your DB.

And what about the Gridview control. I know I can use it to display data from database very easy. And if the table in the database contains images will the gridview control display it automaticly as it does for the other fields?

Convert image in to binary data and store into the database.
and whenever you want to access the image from the database, read binary data from the database and create .bmp file

Do a google search, then look at the URL, the way to build them is pretty straightforward

hi scm22ri,
Any search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN) basically works on the Meta tag of the any webpage. For ex:- If you feed any query to Google, then Google first searches Meta Tag, Title, Contents of the all the web-pages. Then make a bunch of all the related web-pages, after that rank the web-pages based on thier relativeness to the query.
There is one article based on Search facility. Just check this link.

Hope this will help you.
Thanks & Regards
