Hello,
I have basic knowledge when programming with C#. And I need help in how to connect and access a database such as MS Access to retrieve data. Please show me a sample code, or point me to any resources that explain this simply.
Thank you.

Thank you, sometimes google confuses me rather than helping me.

Note, I wasn't trying to be facetious. Because your question is so general, Googling for a tutorial on accessing databases with .NET is a good way to get started.

I know you weren't. And I really meant thank you. I would've googled c# db ms access and added + and "" and I would've probably confused myself and won't reach a satisfying search result.

It would confuse you but it would not leave you in a lurch. It is a test of endurance and perseverance. Refining your queries should bring you some light at the end of tunnel.

One of the cool things with Visual Studio is that you can just drag and drop an Access database (either MDB or the new ACCDB format for Access 2007) to the solution explorer to add the database to your project.
After a few seconds you will be presented with a wizard to help you through the steps of importing the tables from your database into typed datasets to use in your code or to bind to controls.
It's great for experimenting and get you started with databinding.

Hi all,
I've a problem in ListView management. The problem is the following:
when the ListView looses the focus, the currently selected item in the
ListView looses the selection: the selection in the ListView is not mantained
switching from a control to another in the user interface.
How can I solve this problem ? I'd like to let the ListView to mantain
the selection.
Thanks a lot !

Hi!
It's not true that the "currently selected item [...] loses the selection".
You might not be able to see it, but it's still there.
The LV has a property HideSelection you can use to control this behaviour.

Hi,
I would like to find out how I can run a Windows Service by pressing a key on the keyboard.
My idea is to create a Windows Service in C# and when the user press the Print Screen key the service must capture the screen and save the image.
Thank you!!

hi
I want to list out the drives on my device. i wrote this code for .net compact framework:
string[] dList = System.IO.Directory.GetLogicalDrives();
for (int i = 0; i < dList.Length; i++)
{
MessageBox.Show(dList[i]);
}
But on compilation i get the error saying that "System.IO.Directory.GetLogicalDrives()" is not supported.
Can anyone please help.

All the devices/platforms are not supporting this method. Please make sure that your device is supported by Compact framework.
You can go through this[^] link for that.
