Sorry for posting again. My code didn't show in the previous post.
I've got the two following roleManager providers defined in my web.config file. The one "CustomRoleProvider" is the default one that needs to be used by the whole application.
I wrote another role manager provider "ModifiedCustomRoleProvider" that needs to be the roleProvider used by certain pages or need to be used by a certain page, based on the users role.

Can someone please tell me how I can force a certain page to make use of another roleProvider other than the default one specified for the application.

I want to create a report in Excel through an ASP.NET application. What is the approach that I need to take. I will be picking up the necessary data from a database server and arranging the data in required cells with proper formatting.

Use a 3rd party tool. SQL Reporting, Crystal Reports, Aspose or something else.
Trying to program excel on the server is tough and it doesn't scale well.
I didn't get any requirements for the signature

I had install the vs2003 on win XP, after that configure the IIS server & frontpage extension as said in help files.
When i am creating a web application thru VS2003 it showing the error as:
Visual .Net has detected that the specified web server is not running ASP.Net version 1.1. You will be unable to run asp.net web services or application.
Configuration of my pc is
Win Xp sp2
VS 2003,
.net framework 1.1
.net framework 2.0(this i installed as for MSDN 2005)
Can any one know the what's wrong?

I have published an ASP.Net website, but when I want to open it this error apperas:

i want to display a message in a label in a button click.....that message should be in two line....
Ex:-

i have done like this but not working....

how can i achieve that?

I have the following section in my web.config file:

</location>
I thought that ALL files and folders inside the specified path were affected by this entry. In other words, access is denied to anyone not logged in to the site. It does work for *files* inside the "members" sub-folder, but in subfolders within members (like "members/xyz", files can be viewed by typing the whole path ("http://www.mysite.com/members/xyz/mypage.php").
I tried adding this (so I have both location path entries in the web.config):

but that doesn't appear to have any affect.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

AFAIK, ASP.NET will execute the request, if extension type is mapped to aspnet_isapi.dll in IIS. Usually PHP extension won't be mapped, which will ignore the settings written in web.config. This might be the problem.

Which is your webserver? In any case, if the request can be mapped to aspnet_isapi.dll (which ultimately processes web.config), your objective can be achieved.

Hi all,
I need to open a third part site (external page), with a post call, in a page (page A) with my logo on top of the page (Frame A).
first step: I've used frames (page A) to do it, and it works without problems.
Second step: i need to call that external page with a post call, throwing params as hidden fields. There's no problem! I create a page (Page B) that do this, and i call this page in the frame (Frame B) Instead of the first one (external page). I use this call to make an auto-login into the second site. For make this i need to throw the info of the user calls the page.
The problem is this: In a frame page (page A) i cannot persist my session cookie into the frame (Frame B), i think. If i work without frames, calling directly the Page B, the post call works. In the frame no.
Someone can help me to resolve this problem? I wrong something or is a limit of frameset?
There are other ways to have my page A (with my logo and the external page) without frames?

AFAIK, Session and Frames are not related. If you are creating a session in PageA, you won't get access to this session inside your frame(pageB) until you refresh the pageB frame or the page that contains entire frameset.
