Hi
Within an update trigger I am trying to get the value of the primary key of the row that fired the trigger. I can't select the primary key using any of the other columns either since the other columns may be duplicated in rows other than the one that fired the trigger.

If you are using Sql Server, you can select the value from the deleted table in your trigger. Trust me - it sounds strange, but it does work.

I'm trying to replicate a database from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2000, while creating a new Subscription when I try to add a subscriber server the following error message is displayed.
TITLE: Connect to Server
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Failed to connect to server BERN. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53)
I did Googleing but I could not find a suitable solution, please help me out. I will be grateful to you.

My backend is MSAccess. I have a table which contains a field 'return date' which is DateTime. I want to subtract the return date from the current date in the query.This should be done only between dates and not time.

You can do this in the following manner.

diff = DateDiff(DateInterval.Day, d1, d2)

This code will return the days only.

Actually i got the results but that are difficult in sql, i just want to save only pic not much information about it.

Read the articles I suggested again, attempt to solve the problem yourself using the samples provided and post again if you have any further questions. If you want someone to do your work for you, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place.

You don't set a password on the database itself. You set a password for a user account that can access the database. If you create a new user account from SQL Server Management Studio, you will be prompted to select the method of authentication this account will use (Windows/SQL). If you select SQL authentication, you can define a password for the account. User accounts can also be created from T-SQL, but I don't know the syntax of the top of my head. Search the MSDN documentation if you want to know more.

Actually, it is a two stage process and it isn't a "user account" exactly. You first of all set a login on the server. You then go around each database that login is to have access to and create a user for the database and associate it with the login.

Oh yes I remember that on our servers - thats the 'sa' login with a password of 'administrator'

yeah, i tried, i created an account but it didnt work.
steps i did.
1. conect sql MS with windows authentication
2. Security > Logins > New
enter login name
select SQL Server authentication
enter password
3. uncheck "User must change password at next time"
4. select default database
5. checked all server roles
6. checked all Role membership of my database in user mapping
7. press "OK" and done and close sql MS
8. open sql MS, select SQL Server authentication
9. enter login name and passsword
and it gave error :

Cannot connect to MATO.
------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Login failed for user 'MYLOGINNAME'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452)

I'm not sure. Did you definitely grant permission for your SQL login to access your MATO database?
