Just curious: But didn't the compiler tell you that there was a missing semi-colon? If not what did it say?

Argghhhh - it was an examination question. Really, do we want numpties like this unleashed on the workforce if they can't spot something simple like this?

In the OP's defence *takes own temperature*, before the compiler warned about missing semi-colons I could be looking at the screen for ages before spotting it. This was especially true in Borland's Turbo C++ (The fist C++ compiler that I used which was DOS based) as it would find fault with everything after the line with the missing semi-colon because it would just get really confused. And I spent ages tracking down dozens of errors that didn't exist.
However, given the small size of the code, it should be easy to spot a missing semi-colon.

Ah, but experience in those days used to show that clearing one error would normally clear a couple of hundred errors, which was why I always used to start at the errors at the top of the failure to see if they could be the culprit. 9 times out of 10, the error was in the top 2.

HI ,
i want to know how to create a class which has an INSERT method for several forms.
for example: i have 3 forms , FORM1,FORM2 FORM3.
FORM1 has 3 textboxes.
FORM2 has 7 textboxes .
FORM3 has 20 textboxes.
Each textbox contrl has datas with differen datatypes.i want to create a common class with INSERT method which inserts data in different table for its corresponding calls made by every forms.
i had already done this task but seperate INSERT methods for individual forms.
now if i try to user a common insert method for the 3 form with diff contrls and datatypes, i cant get a clear idea to accomplish this task.
can anybody give me solution.

I am using listview control of c#.net 2003,
And when i am updating the list with data from database it giving the
System.NullRefrenceEXception error.
What can be the problem?
Is the data not fetching up from DB, or I am not linking it properly?
And How can i analyse this?

its because the app is nt getting the reference to the control . please check whether you added and the control. check its initialization also.

I want to find the Last Modifed Date of the Word Document I have. I am using a code sample available from Internet but unable to get the date. The code sample was to get Author Property. I changed it to get Last Modified Date. But it is throwing Exception "Exception thrown while Invocation". I guess the problem is in the string I am using to get the Last Modified Date.
Please find the code Sample and give me a solution.String "Prop" is the key to find Last Modified Date.

Hi Sindhu,
I think there is no need for System Registry for this, because I am able to get other properties like - Author, Subject, Keywords and Creation Date by changing the value of string Prop like,
string Prop = "Creation Date";
string Prop = "Keywords";
string Prop = "Author";
string Prop = "Subject";
For all these it is working. As you are new to this I can tell you these will be present in Word Document's Property Tab. You can see these properties in File-> Properties -> Summary/Statistics Tabs.
I need the String like "Creation Date" because I tried so many combinations to get modified date like - Modified Date,Modification Date, Last Modified etc. But its giving an Exception.
