I have a page on a website that contains a form. The form posts back to itself when the submit button is pressed.

If the data is acceptable/valid, the page in question displays content that tells the user he submitted valid data (the form is not displayed). All is well.

However, if the user hits the BACK button in the browser, the browser displays a dialog box that says the page contains post data and blah blah blah the world is going to end blah blah blah. When I click OK in that dialog, the form is displayed again.

I've tried useing this

unset($POST);

after processing the data, but that doesn't get rid of the interim dialog box.

Is there a way to keep the browser from showing that without resorting to a separate "result" page that handles the form's data?

No. This is related to how browsers work, not the server. The typical way around it is, as you say, to have a 'separate' results page (which could still be the same file) that accepts the post data and then redirects the user to a 'normal' page (again can be the same file). The redirect ensures the user doesn't suffer the browser dialog if the they should go back.

It's a nuisance for sure.

I had a larger problem where if the user clicked the back button and (even on a separate page), the data was submitted again. I ended up having to create a random 32-character string and saving it with the data. On subsequent submits, data with the same "id" string is now rejected. The string is regenerated every time the user re-visits the form itself.

Hi Friendz,
I have a piece of code in ASP 3.0 that contains a logic to send email. It uses "CDO.Message" component to send email. But surprisingly no SMTPServer related configuration has been done in this code. Then from where would "CDO.Message" component pick up the default SMTPServer settings. Is that some thing related to IIS -> Default SMTP Virtual Server?

Find below the sample code

Dim objMessage
Set objMessage = Server.CreateObject("CDO.Message")

With objMessage
.To = "Display Name <email_address>"
.From = "Display Name <email_address>"

I didn't work for Classic ASP for so long but I did a search about your problem in Google and I found a link that might work for you.

Sending Email Via an External SMTP Server Using CDO[^]

According the example from that article, there is a way to configure the external SMTP server..

For example:

Hi all
I am creating a vbscript application to send Email for that i used Easymail object 6.0. I used mailserver as smtp.gmail.com, i get 2 problems in that as
1) when i use ESMTP authentication it gives error
The selected ESMTP Authentication mode is not supported by the server

2) when i comment ESMTP Authentication & send mail i get error
The from address was not formatted correctly or was rejected by the SMTP mail server. Some SMTP mail servers will only accept mail from particular addresses or domains. SMTP mail servers may also reject a from address if the server can not successfully do a reverse lookup on the from addressplease suggest what i do to send Email by vbscript using my Gmail account with Easymail object

Yeah. GMail doesn't support ESMTP.

You need to feed the file through a PHP script. At the end of the script you can update the database. Take a look at the readfile function.

How can check the last number for rounding in forms of 10 like decimal rounding system if last number is >= .50 then calculated as 1 or <.50 calculated as 0
11.50=12
11.40=11

so i wants to chek last number <=1154 then 1150
if last number is >=1155 then 1160

PHP copying Post values into session

I have the following code:

$_SESSION['LoggedIn'] = true;
$_SESSION['User'] = $_POST['txtUserID'];

This doesn't work, and when I go to read the session[user] value it comes up as not set (ie isSet() fails and there is no value stored.

$_SESSION['LoggedIn'] = true;
$_SESSION['User'] = 'mi407';

Doing this works and isSet will pass and mi407 is in the vairable.

When doing the following code, the value from post will be echoed but it will still not end up in the session

$test = $_POST['txtUserID'];

echo "$test";

$_SESSION['LoggedIn'] = true;
$_SESSION['User'] = $test;

Anyone know how I can copy the data from the POST array into the session array?

I presume when it's assiging it's simply putting a reference in there and not the data, which is causing the odd behavoir.

I would do this:

In my system C:\Documents and Settings\Emp\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\ReflectedSchemas is taking around 3 GB space . What is the purpose of the files in this folder? Can I remove some of them?

Not sure, but I wouldn't remove them until sure what they are for.

Actually, widget is just DIV and CSS/images. so, If you have good understanding about HTML and CSS, you can create it...
