trying to build up a web chart from below article but i cant see the chart

it just shows image not available icon. i ahve owc11 installed in my machine. do i need to register owc10 too?

Although I have not used office web components anytime but can suggest you to see the path of the image (whether it is correct or not) in the browser.

In my web application, i have one help file as pdf format.
when in firefox
i type like
http://localhost/myapp/help.pdf
then it opens in binary format.
If is there any setting in IIS or in firefox then let me know.

It is probably not an IIS thing, but something with the configuration in Firefox.

Hi,
I am developing an application which needs to work with the files. In one page, i have a grid view which lists all the files used for my application, i have used hyperlink column in grid view for these filenames.
If i click on the filename in the grid view, the file should be opened in the browser (i.e) it should not open the file in its original format (for example if it is a word document, it should not open in MS Word), it should open only in the browser.
Files can be of any type - word, excel, ppts, jpegs etc.
I have tried using Response.Redirect with full path, but that is not the result, which i am expecting.
Can some body help me in this regard.

I don't think that it is possible. Because decision will be taken by the browser, and ASP.NET can't control it. Why do you need such an option ?

Atleast the basic formats like word, excel, power point, pdf docs should be supported, is there any mechanism to do this

AFAIK, NO. Operating system will be having file extension mappings, which maps file extension to applications which can read that. When a file is opened through browser, browser looks for this application mapping and loads it on the specified application. It is decided by the browser where to load the file, and how to show it. So you can't control it.

How can i call a javascript function from App_Code class.
i have a menu child dynamically created inside App_Code class.
i need to pass the navigate URL string to a javascript code.
i dont know where the javascript function is to write because in App_Code there is no aspx file. please help me.

You can't call a JS function from app_code. JS works on client and classes will be executed on server.

You can make use of HTTPContext class. It provides static methods to get access to the current page object. Using that you can give RegisterClientScript() which registers a client script to the current page. See the following code.

The RegisterClientScriptBlock is now working.
but now i cant access the elementID inside the javascript.
i need to collapse the frame when click on the treeview node,and the page loaded in to the main frame. means after loading the page in to the main frame,the frame with treenode should be in collapse mode. my treeview node is created dynamically in App_Code using data from the database.
Here two frames are in the frameset tag.
please help me

Hello Good Morning Everybody.
I put a grid view in a page ang put checkboxes in it to delete the particular row in grid.Also i put a checkall checkbox in the header template of grid.The javascript code for checking all the checkboxes are attached above.
My issue is ,also i insert a checkbox list in the same page below the gridview.When i click the checkall checkbox in the grid the chckbox list also will be checked and unchecked.For single selection its not a pbm.But for checking all its a big pbm .How i solve it.Please help me.Is any changes in the above code will cancel the effect of checking the checkboxlist.or any otehr javascript code will help it.Please help me.

I am making a web service, and need to get the request/response objects associated with the call. How can I get these objects from C#? I expected there to be something like HttpRequest.GetCurrent(), HttpWebRequest.GetCurrent(), or WebRequest.GetCurrent(), but I don't see any such methods. Searching on google for "C# Request Object", "C# current Request Object", "get request object C#", etc., have all turned up articles related to asp using a C# code base. I'm guessing there is some object with a static property or method to get the current request/response objects, but I can't find what object it is. Can someone please let me know what object I need? How can I access the control in the Master page from a class?
The master page has a label Label1 and am trying to access it from a web page.
(Label)Page.Master.FindControl("Label1"); It works on web page but same thing does not when I write it in a class in the application.

I'm having some difficulties and am hoping for some help. I have a site on one of our server used just for web services that I plan to use in other sites on that server. The web service site has been deployed to the server and seems to be working fine. When I call one of the services form my development machine it works fine, but now that I have used one of the services in finished site on that same server I am getting the following error.

I just doesn't make since to me that it would work fine on my dev machine, but not in production. I have taken the following steps to trouble shoot.
Since both sites are on the same server I made sure I could ping the web service url from the server. That works fine. Just in case I modified the host file using the Loop back ip 127.0.0.1 to make sure. Still no good.
I have been reading some articles on line and one said that you should not have charters like _ in you service name, so I removed the _. Still no good.
Not too sure what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I new started with Linq and VS2008 and created a new Web-App automatically with DataContext and LinqDataSource, GridView and DetailView.
But, because I want to place the var LinqQuery into the CodeBehind-File, I code the Var LinqQuery by hand and not by designer.
It works well inside GridView and DetailView for New, edit, Delete and Paging. 
But for Sorting I find no way to use SortExpression and SortDirection inside var LinqQuery

hi friends,
1)I have designed .aspx page in which user input the values.
2)when i click the save button, after that the save button should not be visible.
3)Whatever be the design of the .aspx page with values is to be saved as pdf file.
Now My problem starts from here,
I have used itextsharp.dll for creation of pdf files at runtime in asp.net but i don't know how to solve this problem with the help of itextsharp.
i have used many dlls which can be used for .aspx to .pdf conversion on fly but they are not working properly. For Example:PDFizers,ABC pdf,Ntidy,Ghtmldoc.exe etc....
as per my knowledge about itextsharp.dll, it create pdf file but the designing of the page is not possible with this..(if i am wrong then correct me..)
so what i have to do tell me about this....following is my code of creating pdf file by using itext sharp.
if any suggestion please reply,
