Hi there,
I want to delete a row from a gridview, once it has been populated. My user have some control over how he wants to see the gridview, but now wants to be able to deleted certain rows, when clicking a link. How will I delete the rows?
I have the following code:
<br />
Dim row As GridViewRow<br />
'Delete Customers from grid<br />
For Each row In gdvUsers.Rows<br />
If (row.Cells(4).Text = "") Then<br />
'delete row<br />
End If<br />
Next<br />
<br />
Any help will be appreciated.

After Binding the data into the grid we have use this code:
Dim row As GridViewRow<br />
Dim i As Integer<br />
'Delete Customers from grid<br />
i = 0<br />
For Each row In gdvUsers.Rows<br />
If (row.Cells(4).Text = "") Then<br />
gdvUsers.DeleteRow(i)<br />
End If<br />
i = i + 1<br />
Next
And include this row deleting event:
<br />
Protected Sub gdvUsers_RowDeleting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewDeleteEventArgs) Handles gdvUsers.RowDeleting<br />
<br />
gdvUsers.Rows.Item(e.RowIndex).Visible = False<br />
<br />
End Sub

hi
i use of WebRequest.BeginGetRequestStream method such as follow , to send and get data to a site (for example to one of my web page application ) programmetically.
my problem is these code doesn't work correctly.
i think , problem is in set parameter.
can you guide me?
protected void btn_BeginGetRequestStream_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
// Create a new HttpWebRequest object.
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(TextBox1.Text);
// Set the ContentType property.
request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
// Set the Method property to 'POST' to post data to the URI.
request.Method = "POST";
// Start the asynchronous operation.
request.BeginGetRequestStream(new AsyncCallback(ReadCallback), request);
// Keep the main thread from continuing while the asynchronous
// operation completes. A real world application
// could do something useful such as updating its user interface.
allDone.WaitOne();
// Get the response.
HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse();
Stream streamResponse = response.GetResponseStream();
StreamReader streamRead = new StreamReader(streamResponse);
string responseString = streamRead.ReadToEnd();
TextBox4.Text = responseString;
// Close the stream object.
streamResponse.Close();
streamRead.Close();
// Release the HttpWebResponse.
response.Close();
}
public static ManualResetEvent allDone = new ManualResetEvent(false);
private static void ReadCallback(IAsyncResult asynchronousResult)
{
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)asynchronousResult.AsyncState;
// End the operation.
Stream postStream = request.EndGetRequestStream(asynchronousResult);
//Console.WriteLine("Please enter the input data to be posted:");
string postData = "Text1=" + "hi";
// Convert the string into a byte array.
byte[] byteArray = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(postData);
// Write to the request stream.
postStream.Write(byteArray, 0, postData.Length);
postStream.Close();
allDone.Set();
}

OK - is someone creating accounts and posting these as a joke ? You're on a site full of .NET examples. But, you should really buy a book and work through it if you really want to learn.

slow down... slow down... put on the breaks... the original post was deleted. Christian's message was not intended to your post. Can't you identify from the title of the message that it was replied to someone...

Thers is none here under the obligation to respond to your post.

That is impolite and certainly will not motivate anyone in answering your questions.

Is this true? Looking at your previous posts, you asked a similar question a few days ago and got plenty of help. You only posted your current question a few hours ago. You should be prepared to wait several days for a response. This is a free site and you're not paying anyone for their assistance.

There's no need for such abuse, especially considering that you made a mistake. You should apologise for your unnecessary outburst.

Wow - did you try to research them at *all* ?
AJAX is a methodology that is supported by any web development environment. ATLAS is the old name for ASP.NET AJAX, a library from MS that attempts to create .NET ready controls and methods to simplify AJAX. So, they are the same thing.

I have created a gridView at run time like this:
Dim dgUserGrid As GridView<br />
dgUserGrid = New GridView<br />
dgUserGrid.ID = 5<br />
dgUserGrid.AutoGenerateColumns = False<br />
dgUserGrid.BackColor = Drawing.Color.Brown<br />
dgUserGrid.ForeColor = Drawing.Color.White<br />
dgUserGrid.AllowSorting = True<br />
dgUserGrid.AlternatingRowStyle.BackColor = Drawing.Color.BurlyWood
also added this:
Protected WithEvents dgUserGrid As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView
dssave.Tables("dtUsers").Rows.Add()
dssave.Tables("dtUsers").Rows(0)("UserName") = name.Text.Trim
dssave.Tables("dtUsers").Rows(0)("cPassword") = password.Text.Trim
dssave.Tables("dtUsers").Rows(0)("Role") = Role.SelectedItem.Text.Trim
dssave.Tables("dtUsers").Rows(0)("PasswordChanged") = 0
Dim userdetgrid As GridView = GridHolder.FindControl(5)
userdetgrid.DataSource = dssave.Tables("dtUsers")
userdetgrid.DataBind()
this code is working fine but not appropriate.
I want to create boundcolumns at runtime.??????
Thanks and Regards,

This is a joke, right ? Look around you, this site has plenty of examples. In any case, no-one learns anything by getting a full program, you need to buy a book and work through it to ever get above the level that would inspire a question like that.
