CAB is on the second number. What is the feed back of CAB users, does it really make ur life easy????

The good point about CAB is that it is good for project-integration (if all developers follow the guidelines... ) Actually, using SCSF is much better than using plain CAB..

There's many ways of "getting it right the first time". Just because Microsoft puts something out 1) doesn't mean it's the only solution, 2) doesn't mean it's the right solution, 3) doesn't mean it's even right!

Years ago I went the whole hog with version 1. I believe I made use of just about all the blocks. The logging block was very customizable, and I was able to tailor it to do some automatic auditing tasks. But, these days I prefer to use log4net. The Exception Handling block, I found its usefulness dubious - To much setup/maintenance time, and not enough pay off.
These days I have an aversion to config files. In the past I have found that having to many loosely typed values, that change infrequently (if ever) can add a lot of slow-down to the maintenance/development of a project. This, I have found, is especially true if one passes a project on to other developers that must wade through reams of the stuff. Most of the time, I just can’t see the benefit. Having a GUI tool to edit the config sounds nice, but it’s yet another dependency that must be deployed in some cases to production machines, and in my experience has the effect of keeping developers away from the raw configuration. I’m sure there are some that have a different view on this.

Most of the P&P stuff is interesting if you have never seen the patterns before, and far less so if you have.
CastleProject's offerings are FAR more interesting.

seems like the most of companies doesn't use CAB and SCSF for their projects... In my company, we started using SCSF for our projects... I found it very helpful for project integrating....
