I believe the date time picker control allows you to specify a range of dates that can be selected. If not, you can check when the selection is made and reject it. Use DateTime.Now.

I'm running my application from a network drive. My framework is configured to grant all_codes security permissions to Everithing.
Applications running fine, including accessing local ports, system file,... but if i use the class process, framework tell me that security policies do not permit this operation.
Below a code brief.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click<br />
MyProcess = New Process 'This line is security policy violation?<br />
MyProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False<br />
MyProcess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = True<br />
MyProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True<br />
...<br />
How can i solve ?

This error is telling you your assembly, running from the network, doesn't have FullTrust permissions on the machine. You configured permissions for Everything, not FullTrust. "Everything" just gives you Execute permission. The Process class requires that the calling assembly (your code) have FullTrust permission to call it.

Thank's for the answer. But, What must i do to make my assembly full trusted ? Sorry for my inexperience with security policies.

Well, I'd love to tell you, but it wouldn't do you any good because what you do depends on your network environment, its configuration, policies you have in place (if any), your app's requirements, if you have a certificate, if you're going to use this certificate for future apps, ...
Basically, that's what all that documentation is for. There's a bunch of options to explore to do this.
In a nutshell, you have to get the machines to trust your code, either the source folder, or registered assemblies, or certificate-based trust. How you do that depends on network environment and any policy management setup you have.

When your application uses Crystal Reports then you have to include certain other dependencies in the setup project, you can search crystal reports web site for which dependencies to include according to the version of Crystal reports installed in your system. Without including these dependencies crystal reports won't load on the end user's computer.
Hope it helps !

You don't have to download the Merge Modules required for the Crystal reports to run on the client computer they are available under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules\ folder but you have to figure it out which one to use i've used these according to the instructions on their web sites regwiz.msm, VC_CRT.msm, VC_STL.msm and some other at that point of time i was working on VS 2002 which had Crystal Reports built in support. This URL may help you to solve your problem http://www.businessobjects.com/products/reporting/crystalreports/net/vsnet.asp

I am creating an application in VB.Net 2005 to retrieve emails from Gmail's POP3 Server for this I used following code -
Dim TCP As Net.Sockets.TcpClient
Dim stream As Net.Sockets.NetworkStream
Dim StreamReaderCallback As AsyncCallback
Dim ReadBuffer(256) As Byte
Dim streamSSl As System.Net.Security.SslStream
Sub POPConnect(ByVal strUserName As String, ByVal strPassword As String)
'connect to the pop3 server over port 995
Try
TCP = New Net.Sockets.TcpClient
TCP.Connect("pop.gmail.com", 995)
stream = TCP.GetStream()
streamSSl = New System.Net.Security.SslStream(stream)
streamSSl.AuthenticateAsClient("pop.gmail.com", )
StreamReaderCallback = New AsyncCallback(AddressOf ReadStream)
stream.BeginRead(ReadBuffer, 0, ReadBuffer.Length, StreamReaderCallback, Nothing)
Catch ex As Exception
MsgBox(ex.Message)
Exit Sub
End Try
End Sub
Private Sub ReadStream(ByVal ir As IAsyncResult)
Dim getByte As Integer = stream.EndRead(ir)
If (getByte > 0) Then
Dim sGetMsg As String = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ReadBuffer)
validateMsg(sGetMsg)
End If
End Sub
Private Sub validateMsg(ByVal s As String)
Select Case s
Case "+OK"
MessageBox.Show("Got response from gmial")
End Select
End Sub
But I am not able to read that response i.e. System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ReadBuffer) I am getting some encoded value (just three boxes)
I also tried
Dim sGetMsg As String = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ReadBuffer, 0, getByte)
But still I am not getting how to decode that response.
Please tell me how to read that stream.

Well, I haven't done anything like this in quite a long time, but I think the ASCII encoding is what's wrong. Try changing that to UTF7Encoding or UTF8Encoding instead.

That's irrelevant. You need to write code to parse the number and turn it into a string, and that code doesn't care where the string will be rendered.
No-one is going to write this for you. Think about what it does, and try to write it yourself. Ask again if you get stuck.

See this article[^] which shows you exactly how to work out how to do that.

That is pointless information. The code to do the conversion should NEVER be in the presentation layer. It should be in its own class.

Any managed code running from a non-local source (read: any network source, trusted or not) is NOT trusted by default. In order to run code from a network source, you MUST understand Code Access Security[^]. It's a must read for any applicaiton actually, but becomes so much more important when running from an untrusted source.

I thought this question sounds familiar. Asking it again and again and again, won't change the answer[^].

I am trying to take a image and zoom/pan to fit a template (something overlaying the image(and preferably and image itself with transparency)) and then crop what is inside the template area. I have tried using the picturebox control and system.drawing to gain the effect but cannot get it to work for me.
any ideas?

You are doing-
1) Zoom/Pan an image
2) Making an image transparent
3) Crop the image area.
Now could you please clarify in which operation you need help or what is that you are not able to achieve.
This will help us in providing correct suggestion.

Forget the picture box. Draw the image on your form yourself, in your paint event handler. The rest should be easy, if not, ask more specific questions.

Hi, I'm not sure whether this question should be post in asp.net forum or windows vista forum or this this forum. Current I have an old laptop which is running windows xp professional with IIS installation. I used Vs 2005 to develop an asp.net website in my laptop.
Now i plan to purchase a new laptop but it is not windows xp professional. The new laptop that i plan to purchase is windows vista home premium edition. What i want to know is whether windows vista premium edition has an IIS which is support for asp.net development or not? If vista home premium has IIS like winxp pro, then it won't have any problem for me to continue my web application development.
Thank in advance!!!
