The form path ? What do you mean ? The only path is the path to the exe, you know where that is, right ?
If you have an app with many forms, there's no way to use a specific form from VB6. All you can do is run the program.

Hi
I need to build an app that does the following - I am processing about 1000 10MP files each week . . .
Read a jpg, inflate to bmp in memory
search the bmp row by row for a selected color -
when found copy and display a 300x400 pixel snippet,
determine the min/max x-y bounds of the homogenous color and save for later exclusion processing,
create a new bmp structure with this data,
allow a user to enter a string to append to the original file name (or OCR the pixels contained in the bounded area),
then save the new image, and
continue searching frombeyond the bounded area.
I think I need an api to read the jpg data into a bmp table - then do some straightforward line scanning, some calculations for determining the bounds of the extract area, then an api to an ocr routine, then an api to write the new file.
Does anyone have pointers to code snippets that will model any of these components
Thanks
Bob

The Image class does this. In fact, it's more work to have it in memory as a jpg/
rfrank5356 wrote: search the bmp row by row for a selected color -
My image processing articles show how to do this
rfrank5356 wrote: (or OCR the pixels contained in the bounded area),
That part is very hard, you won't do it, I don't expect.
rfrank5356 wrote: I think I need an api to read the jpg data into a bmp table
The Bitmap constructor will read a jpg, and it's a bitmap in memory.

There are OCR libraries for purchase if you really need this, Atalasoft have one and the libraries of theirs I use, are excellent.

Thanks very much - I've downloaded the sdk, looked at some of the references - still working - Is there a short vb code snippet I can grab that will allow me to get a single image and start rummaging - I have gone through a zillion (well - maybe a million) pages and no simple thing that I can grab - Once I have a start - I can usually make progress . . . Thanks Again !!
Best
Bob

1. Currently 1.1 is installed
2. I have downloaded 3.0 and installed it.
3. How can i switch to 3.0 without uninstalling 1.1
4. I am using visual studio 7.0

I don't think you can. 3.0 is really an addition to 2.0, if you don't have a 2.0 compiler, you're hosed.

Hi,
All the .NET FrameWork versions live side-by-side, installing one more does not affect the
others.
You will need a newer Visual Studio to work with a newer .NET; Visual Studio versions also
can coexist on a system.
AFAIK for 3.0 you would need either VS2005 plus extra's, or VS2008 (Orcas, beta).

Hi,
Im a dba, i'll get reports from my server everday as below in HTML format.
http://rapidshare.com/files/61712371/Main.html
I Need to split the HTML files as below
http://rapidshare.com/files/61712350/1.1.html
http://rapidshare.com/files/61712363/1.2.html
If the files 1.1.html and 1.2.html already exists in the it should append to the file. I need to send this individual files to internal office.
I've written a code to read the Main.html file to a string, but after that i dono how to write that particular string.
Pls help me and provide me a code.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I need to extract the specific content from first file and then need to split into another two files. I dono how to extract the specific content from first file.
When i use the below commands, its copying all the data from first file to second file.
File.WriteAllText(path, contents)
Thanks, Vidhya Sagar

You've already got code to read the HTML file, right? On what basis are you splitting the files? If it is based on a character count, split the string containing your data every n characters and write each portion to a separate file.

Hi Paul,
I dono which command will do that for character splitting.

Use the following overload of String.Substring[^] to read blocks of n characters from a string.

hi
in gdi+ we have gdipStrokepath to make one pixel(unit) width edge of a path(text).
is there any api for draw text with any font and size ,but only one pixel width font?
for exam. create one pixel pen ...??
thanx

You can get the path that represents a string or a letter. Then you can draw it n the manner that I think you're after.

sorry i need a clear answer.
i already do it with a thinning algorithm , but if you work with Strokepath (gdi32) you find it very fast and easy.
i want to know is there a way to create one pixel width pen and draw text with this pen ?

I think what Christian said was that in order for that to happen, you'd have to get the outline description of each character, create your pen, and draw each character outline yourself.
