why do you want to complicate the things?
To alert a message on the click of HTML button...

From any control, you can call it from any client side event you like, but the code is simple enough that you'd do better IMO to just inline it, so add the alert call to the event, instead of calling such a simple function.

there is a Use Simple file sharing Recommended (after unchecking this option , i will be given the security tab for every file and folder) in the folder option > view in the window explorer.which is appearing in the drived other then the frived where the operating system is not installed.
Example my operating system is installed in c drive.no i am not getting the security tab for the file or folder in c drive.
Actually i have to access the database which is residing in th c drive , and i am unable to provide the access permission to my database

Hi,

Some times any of the webpage does not behave correctly, I was asked to do IISRESET. What does this do actually?

Hi,

I can clearly see in the command prompt that the IIS gets stop and then started when I run the command IISRESET. What I was looking is that what happens internally in the IIS, which fixes lot of issues raised in the webapplications.

How it is a single solution for many problems?

It will cause your web app to restart, thus solving, for example, issues where your use of session state gets tied in knots.

It's Strat and Stop the IIS..

WE are deploying our web application to IIS, and it has a link with Framework version also.

Instated of Run command u can reset ur IIS programitacally also accordign to ur requirment !!!! Cool | :cool:

type iisreset /h into a command prompt and you'll see all possible commands with (short) explanations.

i know the cursors and triggers . but can u tell me the real life situation when i can implement these things in asp.net. I mean so far i implemented tables , views , stored procedure , functions in languages

Never. cursors, triggers, tables, views and stored procs have nothing to do with ASP.NET, they relate to SQL.

I have the following code (works fine in .NET 1.x) which I believe expects to get the connectionstring from the key-value pair within <appSettings>...</appSettings> block in my web.config file. But I'm using .NET 2.0 now and all of my connection strings are within <connectionstrings>...</connectionstrings> block. How can I convert this line:
string strConnexn = SecureConnection.GetCnxString("cnxNWSecure");

to read my connectionstring from <connectionstrings>...</connectionstrings> block and not from <appsettings>...</appsettings>.

I'm familiar with the following in .NET 2.0 which doesn't involve string encryption & decryption:

string strConnexn = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["cnxNonSecure"].ToString()

What I'm looking for is something that works for secure connection.

Here's a chunk of code from a function for your review:

// Grab the encrypted connection string and decrypt it

i was using stored procedures in the asp.net and in the stored procedure i am using functions there in the stored procedure i wrote the following line to call he function

@itemid int,
@subitemid int,
@SSubItemId int,
@typeMasterid int,
@subtypeMasterid int

declare @lifeid int
set @lifeid = 0
@lifeid = FLifeId(@itemid,@subitemid,@SSubItemId,@typeMasterid,@subtypeMasterid)

and error occured
incorrect systax near @lifeid

now the error is flifeid is not the recognized function name , but it exist in the database, i created a user defined function name
