The Lounge is a place where you can discuss anything that takes your fancy. If you just want to laze about and discuss things that don't quite fit elsewhere, then this is the place.

I went to my profile page, then photo was showing "you must be logged in to view other members images". But when I clicked on the my articles page, it showed the image. Still I have not logged in. Then what is the use of blocking it in the profile page ?

If a VBer posts a RegEx question in the VB forum I won't see it because I never go there. He could cross-post to all those four forums (fora?), but that's frowned upon. Plus grouping them together would make searching for the answer easier.

Nope - it isn't. A lot of people really dislike Flash, so you would end up alienating them.

Flash isn't banned but ActiveX controls inside articles is (and so, by extension, is flash).
I'm happy to allow Flash but I've yet to see a single situation where flash is better than text and images. If you are thinking "screencasts" then that's a different story and I don't think Flash is the answer there.

A screencasts or video tutorial section on CP would be really good. I'm not sure how the hamsters would cope with the extra load though, but it's definitely one to consider.

I have seen so many article's, which have discussion messages not related to article content. See this[^], author wrote a good article on how to post questions, and so many members has posted their programming questions on the article discussion board!
So how about an option for the article author to moderate the comments for his articles ? I think this can keep the article discussion boards with related informations.

That is a wonderful suggestion. But I would suggest that apart from the author, CodeProject MVPs and/or SysAdmin, editors and staff must be allowed to moderate the questions posted. This is because, the authors may not always be available.

I disagree.
If you put a note in a big red font saying 'DO NOT DELETE POSTS WHICH SLAUGHTER YOUR CRAP ARTICLE' somewhere on the authors forum, then they won't delete them. This method has certainly working in preventing programming posts being left in the lounge

The comment moderation should be a fine blend of Author View + a Panel of CodeProject Admins. In that way, the autocracy of the Author and consequent hypocrisy is offset. We thus, gain to maintain a healthy mix of suggestions and criticisms on the article without any offensive content.
