You should ask this in the article's discussion forum, not here. There is a higher chance that the question will get answered by the original author that way and, since it is a question related to a specific article, other people will be able to see it along with the article.

I'm new here so I'm appreciating your help. You mean the "Article Requests and Ideas" forum? I just post another thread in that forum. Thank you for your help.

|

No, that forum is for people to submit ideas for articles. Each article has a discussion forum associated with it, that you can see at the bottom of the article. You get to the discussion forum for the article by going to that articles web page.

How to make a label (label1 ) move with the arrow keys, with up making it move up, down, down, right,... Thanks in advance -M.S.

Hi,
expanding on number 4 of my earlier reply to you[^], give the Control you draw on a KeyDown handler, and compare
KeyEventArgs.KeyCode with Keys.Up/Down/Left/Right; on a match, change your drawing parameters
and Invalidate the Panel.
If you insist on "drawing" with a label, change the Location of your label (no need to
invalidate then).

I see what you're getting at, but do you have any specific code, I'm still pretty new to C#, but going along... Thanks, though.

Hi,
what you could do is read my Sokoban article and code, it is a puzzle tool with simple
graphics.

On CodeProject.
you can find it using the CP Search engine, using Google, or by clicking "My Articles" below.
Do you really want to become a programmer, then learn to look around and search a little...

Are you sure?
Try it without the status bar update, and if that runs fine, start using Control.InvokeRequired
and Control.Invoke (plenty of examples around).

Dear All,
I need to develop a Image Processing Application which can do OCR- recognition of typewritten text and ICR – recognition of handwritten text. It has to be done using C# in Visual studio 2005 environment. Although I am into .Net for sometime I am a newbie as far as Image Processing is concerned.
Specifically, I require help in the following areas:
1. Pre Processing of Images in order to improve Recognition accuracy. There are many processes like deskew, despeckle ,flipping etc. But which are the processes that need to be applied. Does it depend on the quality of the image. Is it required to apply graphics Filters, if so which are those.
2. Dividing the Image into Zones i.e OCR and ICR.
3. Retrieving the pixels from each element and feeding it into a neural network Library for accurate Recognition.
4. Displaying the Recognised text in another Window for Spell checking and correction.
There are a lot of good articles in this forum but they give information in bits and pieces and it is very difficult(if not impossible) to put it all together for developing this application.
Can someone give me a total picture step wise as mentioned above. If someone,who has developed a similar Application and who has a good knowledge of C# comes forward to help me in developing this Application I shall be ever grateful to the person. In addition I am willing to pay Consultation charges.You may refer me some good books which covers this subject in detail and which provides code.

Your post is a pretty tall order. Consider breaking it down into smaller, more manageable bits.

OK, lets start with the first one.
Tell me the following:
1.What are the processes involved in the pre processing of an Image?
2.Does it depend on the quality of an Image.If so how to determine that?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
How I can put the Flash Animations on the Visual Studio C# .Net form?
Can I put the animated gif image?
Can I use the Flash Buttons?
If answer is YES………then how can I do?
|
|
|
|
|
You can use the windows media player control to play movie files. You can use code that's in an article on this site to play animated gifs. You need to visit the flash site to find a control to play flash, assuming that one exists.

Hello,
I am working on a small application coded in C# with multiple forms. This application needs to bring in data from my Access Database. I was hoping someone could point me to a good tutorial or any information that could help me. Thanks!

How can I have XmlSerializer.Deserializer deserialize an array of Category objects? Right now it'll only work on a single Category object.
<categories>
−
<category>
<content-provider-id type="integer">1</content-provider-id>
<id type="integer">2</id>
<name>Traffic Alerts</name>
</category>
−
<category>
<content-provider-id type="integer">1</content-provider-id>
<id type="integer">1</id>
<name>News Alerts</name>
</category>
−
<category>
<content-provider-id type="integer">1</content-provider-id>
<id type="integer">3</id>
<name>testing category</name>
</category>
−
<category>
<content-provider-id type="integer">1</content-provider-id>
<id type="integer">7</id>
<name>curl test</name>
</category>
−
<category>
<content-provider-id type="integer">1</content-provider-id>
<id type="integer">8</id>
<name>sapce test</name>
</category>
</categories>

Assuming that "categories" is your root XML element, then you can do the following:
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Xml.Serialization;
namespace WindowsApplication1 {
[XmlRoot("categories")]
public class categories : List<category> {
}
}
When building your XmlSerializer, you need to specify "categories" as the type like so:
XmlSerializer xs = new XmlSerializer(typeof(categories));

Take care,

I have a class ServiceResponse that inherits WebResponse. When I create a new ServiceResponse I want to set the base WebResponse with a variable that I pass to the Service Response constructor. How can I do this?
I have this class structure:
public class ServiceResponse : WebResponse
{
public ServiceResponse(HttpWebResponse resp)
{
}
}
/\ |_ E X E GG
|
|
|
|
|
public ServiceResponse(HttpWebResponse resp) : base(resp)
{ //how do I set the base WebResponse to resp? }
this forces a base constructor that takes this parameter to be called.
I'd be surprised if you need this code, I'd expect the base constructor to work, as in
ServiceResponse sr = new ServiceResponse(resp); // I think this should call the base constructor for you but build the derived object )

You can't do that. When the constructor is running, the object is already created, and you are in it.
When you create an instance of an inherited class, there is just that instance. There is no separate base object.
Perhaps you want to encapsulate an instance of the WebResponse class in your class, instead of inheriting from it.

Yeah, I just did this and it seems like a better fit.

Are you looking for something like this?
public class ServiceResponse : WebResponse
{
public ServiceResponse
(
HttpWebResponse resp
)
: base ( resp )
{
}
}
