Well, it seems obvious that professional is better than standard. The price of standard is cheaper ( still $5000 per processor ). I used google ( you may have heard of it ) and quickly found this site:

It seems that SS2000's number of users is limited only by available memory. I would guess that standard will be just fine, but if you own both, I don't see why you'd not go with professional.

The Developer edition is exactly that, NOT licensed for production use, but for development only. You have no choice but to go with at least the Standard edition.

It is a mathematic evaluator
in windows form wit 2 textbox and 1 button

of goals, current situation, and problems, the solution is not in sight yet.
Please read the forum guidelines, and look at some other discussion threads.

How about telling us what your problem is and only post the code that is in the suspect area. No one is going to debug your entire code for you.

I am using common dialog control to act as open dialog. I want it to directly go to a perticular folder when i click on my open button. How can i do that.

You can't do it from your code. You have to install the Generic Text printer driver and use that to do your printing.

I put a MainMenu in my module but when i run the program, i cannot see it...the MainMenu is visible in the other module but isn't in the second one...what's wrong with that???

You're going to have to explain this a bit more. Modules in VB.NET don't have a visual component, so I fail to see how you did this.
Are you talking about a Form class?

The module that i am talking about is the form in my project...
i put a MainMenu in my form, but if the MainMenu is not selected, it is not shown...and when i run my program, i cannot see the MainMenu...
but in the other form that i made, the MainMenu is visible...

OK - strangely, you telling us that you have two forms with menus, and only one is visible, doesn't really give us anything with which to try and help you. If they both have menus, then you should see them. The bug in your code is hard to work out, without seeing any code.

the menus in both two forms that i made are almost the same, and composed of same items. i did not change any of the properties of the two menus. how come that the other one is not visible?

I'm a long time asp developer but fairly green with .net
I've built a program which I've subsequently used the setup/installer wizard to create an installation.
I'm hardcoding the path to the program in the registry so I can use it in the context menu, but I'd like to dynamically assign the value.
so rather than: c:\program files\myapp.exe
i'd wanna set it to %programfiles%\myapp.exe
But when i do this, the system spits an error saying it can't access the directory

my.computer.filesystem.specialfolders.programfiles or something similar will give you the program files directory as a string.

VS 2005
I am developing program that a customer will be able to write their name in a picture box.
I have a picture on the form, and the customer will use the mouse to draw their name.
What is the best method to use to be able to do this?

Your best bet is to lose the picture box and control the drawing of the image and the writing of text in your own code. Just make sure you do all drawing in the paint event, and call Invalidate() to cause a refresh
