Hi,
Does anyone know how can I change the user's bitmap in XP , programatically?
Is there any API for it?
I am creating a user using 'NetUserAdd' API and I want to add a bitmap for that user.
Please help me with this.
Thanks ,
Manasi

Which Bitmap are you referring to? The bitmap by the user account when you log in? The desktop bitmap according to which user is logged? Other Bitmap?
What have you tried out?
Greetings.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Im talking about the user bitmap assigned by OS to the user. (That can be seen when we click on start button in Win XP. On start button click, start menu appears and at the top the username is displayed with the user bitmap next to it.)
These bitmaps are stored in the system at location : "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default
Pictures"
These can be changed in the system as : control panel >> user accounts >> pick an account to change (select an accnt) >> change my picture.
I want to change this picture programatically.
Im creating the user using API 'NetUserAdd'. I could find no method for adding a bitmap using Netxxx APIs.
It would be a great help if you could tell me some method for this.
Thanks,
Manasi

Hi,
How can we perform "multipart" file upload from c++ to a servlet?
Most of the articles I have seen so far, load the whole file in memory and then send the whole file in one go.
Is it possible to send the file by parts as is done in Java (Apache Commons File Upload)?
Thanks.

If I were to embed a binary file into my resources, how could I execute that file without having to write it to disk first? I know it's possible but have no idea how to do it.
|
|
|
|
|
I really doubt this is possible.
i this the binary must be copied to a temporary folder, then executed (and if you want, delete it after that)
BTW, an Off Topic Notice : you have a problem in your signature[^]. don't forget to close the <font> tag
|

I'm pretty sure it's possible. I'm guessing it's a matter of reading the files PE header and passing control.
The problem with my sig is that there's not enough room to close the font. Not a big problem.
BTW did you ever finish that XML library you were working on?

hey, how can you say it's not a big problem when you deliberately break a site with your badly formatted HTML ?!
if your sig is too big, then change it to something smaller, hey !

abandonned... using MSXML instead ^^

AFAIK, it's not possible.

Oh, but I must disagree. It's simply a matter of reading the PE header, loading the dll's and calling winCRTmain(). Along with a few hooks of course.

I want to define a new sas type, consider for example clicking a button. How can I do this? the MSDN documents couldn't help me. because it was written only that you should define a new sas type, more than 0 to 127, but it hasn't been mentioned that how can I do that?
Thanks in advance,

Once we have discussed something like this, right?
The same can be used here too... Try this[^]

ya that is true but,I had another problem i.e when i opened a dilaog from one of the views and opened a dilaog from the tray menu option with out closing the first one. So,i will have two modal dilaogs opened. Now when i close one window,i am able to access the main window even though one modal dialog is opened, which is a odd behavior. So,i want to get the handle of the child window, which remained when i close one of the window's and disable the main window untill the child window is closed. Is it correct or there is any other option.
Thanks

Is it good to show two modal dialogs at the same time? From my point of view, I dont like it... anyway I am not sure about your requirements. So I think your idea of disabling the main window is not bad.
Then you will get the window handle from dialog object if it is set as global or member object.
