Im making an application that makes a calendar entry into the MS Outlook database. Im using
Visual Studio 2005
Windows XP service pack 2
MS Outlook 2003
Im writing my code on a virtual machine (Windows XP service pack 2).
Im using the Microsoft Outlook 11.0 Object Library which ships with Outlook 2003. I have added it as a reference in my project. I have shown the code below. After writing the code, it compiles successfully. But when I run this, I get the below error while creating the object for Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application():
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

try
{
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application outlookApp;
outlookApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application();
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.AppointmentItem oAppointment = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.AppointmentItem)outlookApp.CreateItem(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlItemType.olAppointmentItem);
oAppointment.Subject = "This is appointment Subject";
oAppointment.Body = "This is appointment body";
oAppointment.Location = "This is appointment location";
oAppointment.Start = Convert.ToDateTime("07/29/2008 10:00:00 AM");
oAppointment.End = Convert.ToDateTime("07/29/2008 10:00:00 AM");
oAppointment.ReminderSet = true;
oAppointment.ReminderMinutesBeforeStart = 15;
oAppointment.ReminderPlaySound = false;
oAppointment.Importance = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlImportance.olImportanceHigh;
oAppointment.BusyStatus = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlBusyStatus.olBusy;
//This method save the appointment to the outlook
oAppointment.Save();
}
catch (System.Exception ex)
{
Response.Write(ex.Message.ToString());

There is no predefined method to encrypt connection string. You need to use Encryption classes provided with .NET framework.

Still I am not getting what will the benefit on encrypting connection string ? Connection string written in Web.Config is not publicly visible, ASP.NET won't server .config files too. Then what is the use of encrypting ?

But maybe there are multiple sites operated on host by multiple people and developer wants to keep code safe from them too.

How can store the audio file in the access data base

You can adopt the same trick as storing images in Access and SQLServer. While retrieving, ensure that you set the appropriate mimetype and stream the file to the client.
There are plenty of articles on storing images to database.

Environment: .NET 2005,Framework 2.0
I am manipulating a select element(asp:dropdownlist) through javascript-adding and removing elements. I am unable to get the manipulated data during postback. For workaround, I am using a hidden control(some special characters to separate the list) to track the changes. Is there any optimized way of doing this?

System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory but you will hit permission issues most likely.
But I really think you're going the wrong way with this looking at your earlier post.

The entire problem is
1> An user is going to create an account once he creates it.. Dynamically 4 folders has to be created so tat his own images , templates, ect can be added and will be stored in that folders..
2> Again the user is also having the facility of adding a new page into his account so that he can add features on to that page..

See my answers in the thread below. If you still want to go this way, I'll let somebody else come in - I think you are going to hit a lot of problems allowing end users to create physical pages on the website. What about security? A clever user could inject anything into a page that is 'theirs'.

Looks like you are designing a web hosting system. For images you can have a common pool with some unique name. At runtime you can decode them. For pages, can you check out URLRewriting?
Too many folders would clutter your server file system and maintenance would be a nightmare.

The problem is in an ASP.NET web applcation their is an option called addnew page, so the users will create his own pages in that page . An aspx page should be added to users account dynamically so that he can add his contents in that page.

hi edwin,
thank you,
well my problem is in an asp.net application user has an option of add new page in his account.
So that a new ASPX page has to be added into his account..
Consider an example...
This is basically an ecommerce project .
if their is an user called xyz. he wants to add a new page in his account so that an aspx page should be dynamically added only to his account.And xyz is going to add his own images ,template in that page.
thank you
