Hi Everyone,
I have a problem regarding the page refreshing on client side using F5 button. My records are getting inserted twice. If I click button and then press F5, duplicate records are created. I want that if user has pressed F5, button click event must not be fired. I searched for this on many sites but, every site was suggesting to use ViewState / Hidden Variables / Sessions to keep track whether this is clean post back or using the F5 button.
Is there any in-built technique to identify these type of requests ? I am using Framework 2.0 (VS.Net 2005). This is a major problem and I cant change my stored procedures / apply constraints on data base. I have to handle this at the application end itself.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When the user refreshes the page, the same request is sent to the server again to fetch the page. As the new request is identical to the previous, the only way that you can distinguish such a request from a regular postback, is to keep track of what the user is doing.

No. The browser doesn't tell the server the reason for sending the request, so the server doesn't know.

As Guffa said, broswer is posting information again to server. You can redirect user to some confirmation page. This will solve your problem.

Hi
I have a page which pulls an address of an image that is stored on my system and then passes it into an asp:image tag, so to display it in the page
But i can't seem to get the page to show the image for some annoying reason
when i view the page source it has done it properly, and i have even copied and pasted the code into another html file and it displays the image perfectly.
Is there a method i need to do to get it render the image in asp?
Or am i jus missing somthin stupid, any help appreciated?

Show me your code ? or you try with writing <img src='yourimage'> to some literal control placed on your page.

If U want edit and sorting to be able in your datagridview, u can checked the checkbox Enable Editing and Enable Sorting..when you expand the little arrow in your datagridview at design..or u can use stored procedure to Edit and Sort the data programatically.

Good. Got some suggestions. Not checked fully.
1. It seems that you are not using any postback in homepage. It's better to disable viewstate for that page. This can reduce the data transfered.
2. Contact us page. Try to use a captcha. This will spam your mailbox.

In the Tell a friend page, If the user clicks on anyof the textboxes and clicks on new user sign up or login , the new user sign up wont work unless the user enters anything in the textboxes..
Coz of the required field validator i guess..
and too much required fields in the new user sign up...guess a few can be made not mandatory..user might get offended..thats wat i think!1

Hi,
i have three asp.net applications in different domains say www.domain1.com and www.domain2.com and www.domain3.aspx.
Two pages are there in each applications .First LogIn.aspx and other MyPage.aspx. In mypage of www.domain1.com, i have a link to mypage.aspx of www.domain2.aspx and www.domain3.aspx. now my requiremets are:
1> when user login in www.domain1.aspx, and clicks any link on MyPage.aspx, say he clicks www.domain2.aspx, then he shud be redirected to Mypage.aspx of www.domain2.aspx. it shud not show him its login page .same for www.domain3.aspx.i have to use forms authentication.
Its basicly a single sign on.
The problem i am facing excatly is that, i acieved this using same machinekey,validationkey for all in web.config like
decryptionKey="F9D1A2D3E1D3E2F7B3D9F90FF3965ABDAC304902F8D923AC"
validation="SHA1" />
But i need that the validation keys should be different for different applicatons in there web.config ,and when i click the links from www.domain1.aspx then anyways i save it in the formauthetication cookie and also i want to add some more information in formauthentication cookie.
Please help me in this. Its urgent.Any other way to get this functionality achieved ia also welcome

Before using the rdo control check whether it is null or not!
It happens normally that the function gets called before the radio button gets loaded...
So Do a check on the rdo object before doing this!
