Hi,
I am trying to set the background of a partcular day of a calender (the asp:Calendar control) as follows:
e.Cell.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Aqua;
How do I set the back color to something like #FF0000? Or #CECECE?
Please can someone help?

I have an ASP.NET web application that needs to retrieve an assembly name from a database and then call the appropriate assembly when a page loads. For example, I have a function in an assembly such as MyCompany.MyFunction() and a function/assembly of CustomCompany.MyFunction(). Is the InvokeMember() the best method?

I'm trying to wrap ASP.net access around a classic ASP site. The reasons aren't important, and I can't refactor the site into .Net (it's not funded and I've been expressly told not to do it). So I a the .Net stuff written, but when I try to run the website from within VS2005, I get the following error message:

It seems that the internal web server in VS2005 does not allow classic ASP pages to be served. Is there a way to turn this restriction off?
I don't have IIS installed on my system, and I don't want to install it. I want to be able to run the whole site from within VS2005.

It's not allowed because it's not supported.

No. As the ASP.NET Development Server does not support ASP pages, it's not a restriction, it's a limitation.
I want to be able to run the whole site from within VS2005.
That is not possible without installing IIS.

No. You decide when you create the project if it will create a web site in IIS or use the internal web server.
Perhaps it's possible to change an existing project to use IIS, but I haven't explored this possibility.

No - if you want to test using IIS, just browse to the site, then if you want to debug, attach the debugger to the aspnet process.
I was just coming back to check on what we talked about last night, you still need to use ASP.NET and not just .NET ?

actualy my project was not over .....
when my pc was stormed by a virus.....
as a result i simply copied the project folder to removable drive.
format the computer..installed os..VS.Net IDE
and copied the project folder back to the computer.
but when i tried to open it in VS.net IDE it was
showing one problem.....
as it had no reference in IIS Default web site
and which is mandatory for any asp.net application
now as i cannot open it. i just cannot continue with the project...
how do i go about solving the problem?

Are you sure IIS is installed and working? Can you start a new web project in VS?
Did you give your computer the same anme as before when you re-installed the OS?
If so, then if nothing else works, just create a new project, delete the default page it creates, copy your old project files into the folder and use Solution Explorer to inlcude them in your new project. Set your references, and you should be away.

hello frnd,
just install IIS again, if u have VS2003 then go to START --> click on RUN and type the following command and give ENTER
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -i
and if U have VS2005 then type the following command and give ENTER
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.xxxxx
\aspnet_regiis.exe -i
at the position of "v2.0.xxxxx" give your directory name located in "Framework" folder

You can't, as a textbox does not support formatting. You need to use a richtextbox for that.

How do I display the data retrieved from the database in the text area of my form? Do I have to set the content type of the data before I can display them in the text area? I've looked in to this and found the following tags for displaying text in thetext area
<textarea name="contents">[retrieved database value]</textarea> What would go in the [retrieved database value] part of the code? I suspect I am going to need the ID from the ID field of the database to make this work. Please show me what I am missing in my code above that is critical to making this work. instead of an html textarea use an asp:Textbox with it's multiline property set to true - this will render as a textarea - and then simply set it's Text property to the appropriate dataset field in your code behind.
