Medea type is only suported for xp and second thing adapter type does not give any seperation for wirless and ethernet network adapter card.
so i want only no. of ehternet network cards.

This depends on the Bluetooth Profiles your mobile exposes. My mobile (RAZR V3) and system (Toshiba Satellite with USB stick bluetooth) allow me to use my mobile for internet connections, copy files, sync with Outlook AND use my PC headset for phone-calls with my mobile (funny, but useless).

If I'm not mistaken 6600 means Nokia 6600. If so yes you can most certainly connect it. Go to http://www.nokia.com[^] and download the latest version of Nokia PC Suite. Install it and go to Connection Manager. See to that your Bluetooth is up and running in both ur system and your Mobile. If it is so you must be using any Bluetooth stack as Widcom etc...
If your mobile is listed then please go to Phone and Modem option...You must have a Bluetooth connection listed in the modems available other than your internal modem in the system(if you have any). Click on it and go to Diagonostics. Then give a query modem. if certain queries are returned with Success tag then you are fine(this may take considerable amount of time).
Assuming you are using Microsoft WindowsXP SP2............I suggest the follwing
Just go to Start->Settings->Network Connection and create a new connection wizard.
Select Connect to Internet->then create connection manually->Dial up->...hereafter you have to give your Service Provider specific details. please consult customer care.
Once the connection is set just double click it. Enter the user name and pasword provided by your service provider and there you go...Happy Surfing

sir if cd is having documents r someother things, if we r going to install in particular system then the cd should not run in other systen and application should not open. it should be erased after installing in first one

To do that you'll have to lock it down to a single machine using the mobo and hard drive serials, which would first require running something on the target machine to retrive that info before burning the CD.

Unless you can find some single use cd's thats going to be very hard. To erase a CD you'd have to use a re-writeable CD and to stop it from being erased all the user would have to do is eject the disk.
It'd be very hard to pull this off without some serious investment and top notch workers. Even then some one would still get around it if they had the motivation and time :P

Autorun can be prevented by depressing and holding the Shift-Button. Whoever knows that can simply copy the CD.

Many people also have autorun disabled because it annoys them and they will decide how to use their computer *glares at focus stealing apps*

Hi,
I have been looking around at some new memory devices. Unfortunately my hardware knowledge of the memory coding is limited. I have found people using PC4200 and DDR2-800,... but I do not know how they relate to each other.
Does any know where to find info on how PCxxxx relates to DDRxxx?

How to find whether my application is running on laptop machine or desktop machine ?

There isn't any API to do this. There really isn't any method of reliably determining this. Why should your application care?

The only reason I could think you'd want this is for power saving if on a laptop. In which case you want to check the power settings of the machine rather than find out if the machine is a laptop.

Only way I am thinking is have to search for battery if it's present then it's laptop otherwise it's desktop...

Do UPS systems use the same API for battery reporting as laptops? IF so this would only be able to definitively identify some systems as desktops.

What is the platform are you working in. Please throw some more light over the requirements your project has. Also are you to use any specific Graphics Adapter.

Hi, I want to be able to set the wake-up (or resume) time on a PC by programatically changing the contents of the BIOS NVRAM. Does anyone know the detail of the mapping of the parameters within NVRAM (specifically the offset of the wakeup time hours, minutes, seconds location and also the checksum location) - I AM assuming that these are fixed as other applications seem to be able to "wake-up" PC's programmatically. I've been "Googling" for ages on this and haven't had any luck !
UPDATE:
Have now found that the RTC registers are what I need and they're accessable via port x'70' and x'71' Hopefully, I'm on my way !!!

UPDATE 2:
Looks as though "something" is overwritting the RTC alarm registers at power down as they revert to the BIOS setup screen values. Anyone know anything about this ? (P.S. Believe the RTC is in the SiS962 south-bridge chip)

The "something" is the BIOS setting the desired values, because the standard application for the BIOS alarm is to wake up at the desired time. It is therefore important that the registers be written once again during powerdown.
