<b>The cursor must be focused on the textbox at page startup and on clicking btnAdd it must disappear. So I have used:</b>

TextBoxFocus = "<script language=javascript>document.getElementById('txbMedication').focus();</script>";
Page.RegisterStartupScript("setfocus", TextBoxFocus);

<b>It works fine at page_load, but on clicking btnAdd the cursor is still there and positioned not even at the start, but at the center of the Textbox. Plz help</b>

Hi All
How are you. I have a problem. I want to implement “Quota Management” in my application. Quota Management in the sense, Suppose you login to yahoo or gmail or any other mail id, then in the welcome screen you can see a progress bar which is showing you are using 100MB of your 1 GB limit. I want to do the same. Do you have any idea about that. Let me give you a brief idea what I am trying to do. I am creating a new folder for every new user registered. So if I can give a maximum size limit to that folder and at the time of login if I can check the total used space and the maximum size of the folder then the problem may be over. I don’t know if it will work or not. But I guess it will work. Can anybody help me in this. Please please pleaseeee its very urgent.

You'd do better to track traffic in your database, than fill your server with copies of files.

Mail system won't predefine each folder size. How this works is, whenever a new file is added, it will make sure that totally used space is in between the allowed size. Whatever method you are doing is good. But don't assign any quota for the folder first time. Whenever that folder gets data count the space and make sure that it is in allowed space.

As christian said, you can track this in DB too rather than in file system

You can't reload only specific control when you click button. You can reload it's value using AJAX

Reloading value ?

you need to install Microsoft AJAX development kit and search for some tutorials on how to program with them. Or you can do this by writing XMLHttpRequest using javascript.

Hi Everybody,

So I'm using LoginView on my web application and I have little problem with Permissions and Groups. I have only 2 Groups and want to load different menus (Standard Menu Control) for different roles, but because i have LoginView on almost whole master page I cant do this using <rolegroups> and <asp:rolegroup roles="Administrator"> tags.

Is There any othet solution? Please Help to solve this problem.

hi all,

I have created an Application level connection string variable in my Global.asax

Like:
Application("glbConnection") = con.getDBConnection()

I accessed that variable in My Business class like,

con As IDbConnection = Application("glbConnection")

But i Got the Error as ,

System.NullReferenceException
{"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."}

Message : "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I need to access my application variable in my Class file.
can anyone help me out to solve this problem

To solve your current problem : I guess con.getDBConnection() returns a null value

To solve your next problem, I don't think you want to connect to your database throughout your website this way.

You say you have a business class. The business class should be in a separate project (your business project) which contains all db functionality and stuff and returns the required information to your user interface (in this case a website). In theory, you're website shouldn't be able to 'know' your connection string.

i am getting the connection string in my code behind file when i use the appliaction variable (webform1.aspx.vb)

When i try this with my class i am getting the error.

Do i need to import any namespace in my class file to access this application variable in my class??
