Don't cross post. You asked this same question in the C# forum.

I have developed a project in asp.net for saling products of a company in different locations in a city.They use barcode tag on the product to retrive product information.
So how can i trap that barcode and display the result on my application.
Is it possible or is there any altrnative?
Please Suggest

Ask them how they generate barcode for their products. Their program will be using a logic to decode that? Why don't use same in your APP.

Using my query i try to bind the fields in my datagrid boundcolumn...,
Now in that query i given two fields name as same, like this:
"MHD.AppWHours as AppHours,MHD.AppSHours as AppHours"
In my grid i given one of the bound column name as "AppHours"...,
If i bind the grid it's binding the first AppHours only...,
In that first apphours not have any value...,
Then it want to bind that bound column cell, second apphours value...,
How to do that...,
Any possible way is there plz tell me...,

I think if two column name's are same, datagrdid will take only the first. An alternative solution would be keeping one function that checks your first value and return appropriate value. Then call that function like this
<%# YourFunctionName(BoundValue,SecondBoundValue %>
in codebehind page create your function like
public string YourFunctionName(Param1,Param2)
{
if ( string.compare(Param1,"") == 0 )
return Param2
else
return Param1
}

Hi
Try this regular expression
\b[0-9]{2}:[0-9]{2}:[0-9]{2}\s(?:AM|PM)\b
|
|
|
|
|
Hi
It should be invalid for 13:85:85 AM
THanks

Ys, I know it won't validate this. But you can split the match using ":" in your application. Then check it is in between the valid range.
|
|
|
|
|
Finally i got solution
This is valid validationExpression string
"^([1-9]|1[0-2]|0[1-9]){1}(:[0-5][0-9]\s[aApP][mM]){1}$"

Hi, I have used the following code to export the data from datagrid (asp.net 2.0, vbscript) to an excel sheet. But i am getting the error, Control 'dgresult_ctl03_ctl00' of type 'Button' must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server.
I have set the form tag attribute and button attribute to runat=server
<asp:button id="button1" text="excel ?" runat="server/">
But no it is of no help. Any suggestion? Thanks for any help.
Private Sub RenderGrid()
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"
' Remove the charset from the Content-Type header.
Response.Charset = ""
' Turn off the view state.
Me.EnableViewState = False
Dim tw As New System.IO.StringWriter
Dim hw As New System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(tw)
' Get the HTML for the control.
dgresult.RenderControl(hw)
' Write the HTML back to the browser.
Response.Write(tw.ToString())
' End the response.
Response.End()
End Sub
Protected Sub button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles button1.Click
RenderGrid()
End Sub
|
|
|
|

All server side controls should be placed and rendered inside the form tag. In you case you miss that .You are rendering the control and sending the HTML to page using Response.Write. This will place controls HTML code before the <HTML > tag starts. That makes this error. Solution could be putting a literal control on the place where you want to show this rendered control. Then replace Response.Write with literalName.Text = YourRenderedHTML .
Hope this helps

hi,
what is an exe and why do we create an exe? How is an exe useful in Asp.Net? Give me some examples for creating an exe in .net...
Regards

You want to create an exe for asp.net . I think you cannot do that. but if you wanna do for visual c#.net ,just build it and look in the bin folder in folder of your project,

EXE is a file extension which denotes executable type files. What ever program you are executing in windows will be having one EXE.
vijay_83 wrote: How is an exe useful in Asp.Net?
ASP.NET is not having any relation with EXE. It is applicable for standalone application. ASP.NET is server side scripting language which executes on the server depends on the request it gets.
vijay_83 wrote: Give me some examples for creating an exe in .net...
Create a new Console or WindowsApplication in .NET. Write your code and run it. You will get an EXE in your output directory.

user wants to search the data, he enters the the desired data in the text box and clicks the search button, behind the search button the code matches the data enyered in the textbox with the database and display the matching results in the datagrid
