Let me reword that. I've had no serious problems. I've had to replace a couple of parts, but they've always been really good about it. And they're a lot better than Gateway.

hi Guys,
Hope you are doing well, I would like to ask about a problem which i am encountering when ever i try to switch on my PC.
It give me this message:
" Isass.exe-system error"
"Insufficient System resources exist to complete the API."
so it is continuously starting up windows???/
Considering that before this problem occured i was having "Low disk space " message alarm was appearing all the time.
Please help me in resolving this serious problem, as i can't work on it at all.

Recommendation for isass.exe:
DISABLE AND REMOVE isass.exe IMMEDIATELY. This process is most likely a virus or trojan. It is highly recommended to Run a Free Performance Scan to automatically optimize memory, CPU and Internet settings.

You probably are running low on disk space.
But, ISASS.EXE is a virus. You're probably going to have to start he machine in safe mode, delete that .EXE, free up a bit more space, and run a virus scan on the drive.

I don't think Isass is a virus, part of windows I think. I would try rebooting into Command Prompt, Safe Mode and deleting the pagefile. It's the disk file that contains virtual memory and I suspect in your case it's currupt hence the "low disk space". You may actually need to free some disk space as well.
Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

LSASS.exe is part of Windows, ISASS.exe is not.

Pressing or holding the F8 key during Boot up of your PC should get you a menu which will give you the option of various Safe Modes. I would select command prompt only and then delete the offending file from there. In the very unlikely event that this virus is so nasty that it manages to prevent itself from being deletable in this situation then a professional removal tool will be needed from one of the virus protection companies. McAfee's products are more or less useless so they tend to have to supply such tools for free for the viruses their standard products can't otherwise remove which makes them a good source for such things. Googling Isass should get you started.

The problem is that after setting an partition entry with IOCTL_DISK_SET_DRIVE_LAYOUT the mount manager does not notify itself of the new volume arrival. All that it does is dismounting the volume that corresponds to the partition entry. The partition entry and content of the volume that it maps is in a consistent state.
To set it manually in the mountmanager we need the \harddiskvolumeXX DeviceName which is generated by the volume manager drivers(ftdisk.sys or dmio.sys)
Is there any user mode control code or method to force mountmgr to rescan volume list or to obtain \harddiskvolumeXX or force volume manager , partition manager or disk manager to do a rescan?

Hello everyone,
i'm trying to solve strange problem which occurs in my small program
the basic idea is: [i'm working currently on virtual pc in dos real mode + borland c++ 3.11]
1) user gives me address in memory like 0xf4abc3d4
2) i have to start execuing program from that address
in order to not hang pc i should put 'ret' instruction to that
address and then start executing my program. Any idea how to do this ?
i've already written some code but unfortunately i doesn't work
properly (sometimes pc hangs because i don't know how to put ret instruction
to the specified address in memory)
bellow is my snippet of code:

I want to design network for 25 pcs for students who worked on indivisual login(I mean different user)(client/server).Basically I am software related person.But now I have also worked on hardware and networking side.
Can any body help me or hint me how can I design?
if I use window server 2003 for server then which configuaration is required for clients????
or better to guide me some other network OS.

First, you'd be better off using Linux. It's great for networking and is so much easier to control, unlike Windows. This should get you started:

ok wasnt to sure if this was for mobile development or hardware, but anyway
im looking for a robot controller board that will store and run a program that is written in c++ or assembly code, but it must also have a capacity to store data and handle inputs and outputs
so has anyone seen or heard of anything that can do this, i have looked at various ones like lego mindstorms and serializer but these have proven to primative or require a constant connection
so if anyone knows of anything thats affordable <£400
