USB on WinCE is bugged to hell I'm afraid Frown | :( We use both CF and USB on our CE based product and it can be made to work. Smile | :)
One thing to check is the low level descriptor on your Compact Flash to ensure it's removable. A lot of them have recently changed spec without telling the likes of us and now report themselves as fixed.
There's also a known problem with CE which may or may not be fixed in recent version where if CE looses contact with a USB device 5 times within a certain time period. For example if it's a 'fixed' disk and you remove it, then it puts it on a banned list as a bad device and won't reconnect until it's been rebooted no matter what. I hope you get it straightened out Smile | :)

Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.
