Im trying to connect to my database for some values but I keep getting the message that the connection is already open.But I cant see where.("The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'C:\Documents and Settings\kagisho.mashiloane\My Documents\WORK\2006\WebStu\TryCsharp'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.")

I think your connection string is not good.
Try this:
"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;"
"Data Source=c:\resource.mdb;"

why don'you close connection before opening like:
If Con.State = open then
con.close
End if

I tried closing.It tells me that the connection is closed, and then it says, the object con. was not set to an instant of an object.
How do I get around this??

I have question
Why are you using double backslash [ \\foldername\\ ] in connection string write Connection string with single backslash [\foldername\] and
If still problem persist try this for connection string
1] right click on desktop
2] create new text document
3] rename it as mycon.udl
4] double click it and fill proper informations
5] then test connection , if successful then
6] open file eith notepad and copy paste that string

If your DB file name is TryCsharp.mdb, then specify that correctly in conn. string.
I think you're missing mdb extension.

Hello Friends,
I have two applications in which one of them is build on VB6.0 & using Crystal Report 9.0 and the other application is build on VB.net and using .Net 2.0 Crystal Report. When running both applications on same machine the VB6.0(CR 9.0) application some times generate an error on opening report
Error # -2147417848 : Method '~' of object '~' failed
I need to know that can we run application with different version of crystal report on same machine and wat is the solution required to do it.

I have done some work like
on right clicking the folder , there appears an item in the context menu.
named password.
When i click on the password , it opens my application and shows the complete path of the item into the textbox, I have right clicked.

Yeah, so? This is an AWFULLY long way from actually implementing a password. Like I said before, there is NO ONE LINK that will describe how to write NTFS extensions, or teach you C++, or teach you how to use the Windows Device Driver Kit, or the Kernel debugger, or driver debugging techniques, or ...
Just this stuff takes up about 3,000 pages in a set of books...
Oh yeah. In this post alone, I've already given you about 4 search terms to start Googling with.
Don't believe me that this is what it takes to add password support for any file/folder? Look it up yourself. BTW, information on the topic is very sparse because it's ridiculous to do when NTFS already handles a much more robust security scheme.

I think you'll find you need to recurse into each node to find it's children.

Hi,
I have a Device that will be used by dentist to take their paitient teeth pics. this Device is having a click button from which the device takes pics. The Device is configured to my OS using AMCAP device Driver.
I tried capturing the Click event of the Device using WIA 2.0 but using

Also...Whenever I click on the button on the device the AMCAP driver creates a new window and puts the pic in there...SO I am sure the device is having some Click Event...

Hi All!
I'm trying to implement the GetPositionFromCharIndex() statement in my code to work out the cursors position in a Rich Text Box. The Statement that I have written is:
txtEditor.GetPositionFromCharIndex()
I get an error saying that no values have been specified in the GetPositionFromCharIndex() statement parameters.
As I am trying to locate the position of the cursor in the box, I don't know the method of extracting the required parameters for correct use.
How is the GetPositionFromCharIndex() method to be set up, initialized, and used correctly to determine the cursor location?
I've been stuck on this blockage for weeks.  Your help in finding a solution is greatly appreciated.

That function takes parameter (an integer). The parameter is the index of the character whoes position you'd like to determine. You want the location of the cursor so the index should be SelectionStart. Your code should look like this: txtEditor.GetPositionFromCharIndex(txtEditor.SelectionStart)

1 - you say NOTHING about what is going wrong, so it's impossible to work out what the problem could be, and
