Hi, just wrote a message but I don't get a solution to my problem so I retry:
I need to manage an ActiveX component created on the mainWnd of my App, into a thread.
In particular I need to fill a grid (as I just said, created in the MainWnd) from a thread (on the Run() function), so while the app go on.
I pass to the thread the grid's pointer but at run time an Error messageBox appears that say "Invalid pointer value".
How can I solve it?

Thanks for the suggestion.....
Here i want to change the font to bold only... other settings remaining the same.to use this i have to set all other parameters for which i donno the previous set values...
when i use this size of text .. and all other settings r getting changed...
how can i overcome this..

You can get current font from dialog, and then modify it to bold. Refer follwoing snippet,

I have created a custom menu which is independant from CMenu.
It is created as a child window with desktop window as parent so that it can be shown without affecting the active state of the main window where the menu is used (Same as a normal menu do).
But I am not certain about keyboard handling. Since the menu window has no focus, the keyboard events cannot be captured in normal way.

The stack is a reserved area of memory pointed to by a CPU stack pointer register.
Each thread has its own stack.
For compilers that put local variables on the stack, the stack frame is the block of stack area
memory big enough to hold the local variables.
I don't know if a stack is required by the C/C++ language. Every CPU I've used had a stack and
that stack is used for local variables, but I suppose local variables could be stored anywhere a
compiler chooses to.
A typical stack pointer points to the next available byte in the stack, working downword in
memory. A typical C function call will first "push" the return address onto the stack,
decrement the stack pointer by the size of the return address, and call the function.
On entry to the function, if local variable storage is needed, the compiler will make a stack
frame by subtracting the number of bytes needed from the stack pointer. At the end of the
function, the stack frame is removed by adding the same number to the stack pointer. The
return address is then "popped" from the stack and used to resume processing at that address.
This is Computers 101 stuff - maybe reading some articles on how CPUs work will help

I am seeing an unusual behavior with a CListCtrl API on a CFileDialog, only
on VISTA. I have a call like GetItemData on the list control which is
supposed to return the item as a LPCITEMIDLIST but it always returns NULL
only on a VISTA OS. Windows XP is fine.
Can anyone help me on this one?

if i use GetItemText, i will get only file name without extension.
Any Solution. Or any other way to follow..
This works in XP but not in Vista.
