In VB and C++ I just don’t get it! My first project will have approx 15 different tables (people, places, history of contacts, photographs that are searchable by identifiers, etc.) Will each be a separate form?

You're thinking in terms of Access forms. You can't. You have to start by forgetting everything you know about Access' Forms model. It's just not the same because Access does things very differently.

This question really doesn't have an easy answer. WHat you do with each form depends on what you want that forms to do, not what you want it to do with the data. You have to start thinking about seperating the visuals from the data and even insert a business layer between the two.

Seriously. The best place for you to start is not a 15 table project. Pick up a book on VB.NET or C# before you takle this project. Get the basics down and straighten out all the damage Access di to you (Smile | :) ) before you really confuse yourself.
