just make a control variable of the edit box and use getwindowtext or u can create a cstring variable and use updatedate(trure) and the cstring variable will have the data

How do write WHERE clause in my SELECT query it is giving me error like "data type mismatch in expression syntax"
My Q is "SELECT subcat_id,subcat_name FROM temp_subcat WHERE cat_id = 'get_cat'"
where get_cat is long int variable and cat_id field of DB is also long Integer type.
I thing writing 'get_cat' is not sufficient and i should use some other syntax like '".get_cat."' in PHP i used to write, but again its not working and i am not sure, plz help me out with this simple problem. asfdsf

I am not sure, but how about trying get_cat without single quotes like:
"SELECT subcat_id,subcat_name FROM temp_subcat WHERE cat_id = get_cat"<br />

Yes that is good approach, thanks, in fact i tried it
"SELECT subcat_id,subcat_name FROM temp_subcat WHERE cat_id = get_cat"
and the response from program changed than before but it is throwing exception now like --> "Too few parameters, Expected 1"
From this it seems SQL parser is not counting the get_cat parameter, not sure

By the way, the problem has nothing to do with the skin button, the problem would be the same with a standard button.

can u suggest me what are the ways of getting a vertical scroll bar in the tab control.
The scroll bar should be dynamic i.e the scroll bar should be visible only when the size of the tab is more.for normal size the scroll bar should not be visible.

For each tab item i have a dialog.when the size of this dialog is increased it should have vertical scroll bar in it. the size of the tab control should not be changed when the size of the dialog is increased.

If you're talking about the Platform SDK or the Windows SDK, they come with utilities that add the SDK's directories to the VS options, so that future builds will use the files in the SDK.

I have an MDI Document/View App which (simplified) has 1 MyDocument class and 2 view classes. MyScrollView (derived from CScrollView) and MyFormView (derived from CFormView. Usually MyScrollView will be Maximized and occasionally MyFormView will be activated.
MyFormFrame (from CMDIChildWnd) is used to contain MyFormView and overrides PreCreateWindow to remove WS_MAXIMIZEBOX from the window style. MyFormFrame also implements OnCreate and OnGetMinMaxInfo in order to restrict the MyFormFrame to the exact fit for the MyFormView dialog resource.
With these preconditions (MyScrollView maximized and MyFormView maximize box disabled), when MyFormView is activated, MyScrollView is restored to its original non-maximized state (this is unwanted behaviour).
If I don't remove WS_MAXIMIZEBOX (from MyFormFrame) then MyFormView is activated with no caption at the top left of the MDICLIENT (and thus can't be draged).
Does anyone know if/how I can acheive the desired behaviour (MyFormView activated with caption on top of maximized MyScrollView)?
