It might be my computer, but I checked in with several browsers and still have the issue:

My replies on the topic "programming in c#" made by the user 'babyhannah' are now presumably listed under "Remote Desltop Connection Question" by user 'Sautin.net'.
I still have the emails notifying me of changes in my active threads, so I can prove that there was indeed an original post, that is gone now.
Also you can see an orange line, indicating difference in posts, but there is no starting message.
Can anyone tell me what's going on?

I guess it's called a 'hanging post' ?
Due to post-hanging I offended another user and I'd like to see this corrected...

I think the frequent hanging posts come because of Parent thread deletion.

Ive deleted a parent thread and it just says "[Message deleted]" and still shows the child threads so Im not sure that's the problem.

If it was possible for me to see (just and only) my votes(Votes I gave to others) in a list (either votes to articles or messages, or both), to find out what I did last year  perhaps, I change my self to give more 5s than 1s next year.
Another suggestion (I'm not sure of) would be to give each country a rate. This can encourage people to write more articles so that their country rating increases.

It would be interesting to see statistics in various ways. Not just by country, but by
* technology (does one technology have a lead in quality of articles),
* year (are we getting better or worse at creating articles),
* by author's length of service (do members that have been here longer actually produce better articles)
It would have to be a batch process to update those stats because it would be an intensive process.

That does sound interesting, but I don't like the idea of country comparisons, that defeats the objective of web based communities.

Can you add an option to save advanced search settings? I always have to lick off multiple checkboxes (ex MFC/C++ - ASP.NET - VB.NET - Architect - SQL) when performing a search.

I prefer to tick them myself but clearly I've not been doing enough usability testing to really find out how you guys use the site.
As to the storing, yes. We're reworking that entire bit to make it a little more usable and intuitive

It has. It was essentially impossible to find time to do any work on the rewrite while maintaining the site until we had the resources to get Elina and Dmitry on board late last year. Since then we've all been heads down and focussed solely on rewriting everything from scratch.
I know - it's been dragging on and we're actually up to our third (internal) incarnation of the rewrite yet you guys haven't seen anything. And you know what's even more frustrating? Once it's done you really won't notice many changes. This is a stability and performance rewrite, not a UI overhaul.
