I have a password protected program, and it has the save password function. I have been logging in with it saved for a while, but now i need to move to a different computer and have forgotten my password. I want to learn more about Windows handles manipulation (if that's what it's called) and saw this as a good opportunity. If you know of any articles about this, or if you could give me a hint in the right direction, it would be a great help.

Hi i want to create a complex rule.
I have a C# class which has a list of other objects

class Customer
{
CustomerAttributes :List<attributes>
Customer Name:string
}

class CustomerAttributes
{
attribType :string
attribute: Dictionary<string,object>
}

attributetype can be department which may have more than one department and each department has a name.

In the Rule Engine i want a rule like this
if(department is(TV or fidge)
do something.
Can i write a complex rule like this?

Hey it is a Java utility. I want something in .NET. I want to use a C# class to define the Rule just like the Biztalk Rule Composer.
Is it not possible to do the operation that i want in Biztalk Rule Composer itself??

Is it possible for an IExtenderProvider derived class to hide existing control properties?

For example, I have an IExtenderProvider class that manipulates the images on a ToolStripItem. I would really like to be able to hide the "normal" Image property to minimize confusion for the end-developers. Is this possible?

Hello everyone,

I have a windows application and I would like to add scrollbar (Horizontal and Vertical) to it so the user can move the page both Horizontally and Vertical to get all the page if the WindowForm is not maximized.

Could someone be kind enough to give me information regarding this?

If you set like a panel control (you need some control) to a set width in your windows form Set the property on your form autoscroll = true, it will automatially do this function you are neededing.

Interrupt a function

Is there any way to interrupt a function once it is called if it is not part of your code?

For example:

DataTable.Load(IDataReader);

I'd like to be able to simply stop the execution of the load function. I guess I could use an async call but I am doing this from a form, is it safe to do it ?

One problem with interrupting other threads/functions is that you wouldn't know if it holds any locks when you are interrupting - if it did, then anyone attempting to lock on the same object will deadlock.

Hi all,

I created a datagrid with hyperlink column. The URL in this column is linked to the local c:\folder\filename##.pdf. When I run the App and point on the filename, it showed the link is file:///c:/folder/filename01.pdf. However, it did not show up the pdf when i click on the link. Any idea what cause this issue? Here is the code. Thanks in advance.

Since this is a web app. That file needs to exist on the web server. So if that file is on your local PC that is why it didn't show up.

I am just trying to point out that you really don't want your web app to be accessing anything on your C:drive. If you are running on local host then most likely the local host doesn't have rights to that folder or file. Again, if this is a stardard file that will be released with your web site, then it should exist in a subfolder of your web site and should be accessed with a relative path. So if you created a Docs subfolder in your web project that path would be ~\docs\docfilename.pdf

Take a look at the SelectedIndices and/or SelectedItems properties.

I am new to C#, but am trying to write a small windows application that will write execuatable cmd line code to a Batch File, and then run the Batch File.
I can stop a user from entering a date prior to the Max and before the Min allowable. However, during testing I found that I am able to type in an invalid year or a day AFTER valid dates have been chosen, and these invalid values will be the actual values written to the Batch File.
How do I force the user to only select dates from the dropdown monthly calendar and not change those valid dates manualy once picked?

I would suggest validating the date they entered / selected in the code behind. That way you will know for sure the date is valid. Best options for validating date:
TryParse

Or
Try
{
Datetime dt = Convert.ToDateTime(Dropdownlist.selectedValue);
}
catch
{
MessageBox.Show("Please enter a valid date.");
return;
}

Anyway, that would be my suggestion.

Hi, I have a crystal Reports application in C# displays report with 6 sections. I want to have report display those sections only if there is any data to display.

If there is no data to display, I want to supress the whole report section if possible.

In addition, Is there any way to supress a line in Crystal report?

Sure, it's possible buddy.

I done it before, but i can't remember exactly how.
I think there's a suppress expression or something like that. You can pass it as a parameter and supress your session.
Or do as our friend above said. It seems to work too.
