Hi all
I have a windows with 2 radio button in it. By default it is selected the second, but I would like to switch to first one. When I do that the second should be unselected.
I know how to retrieve the handles to both 2 radio but when I do a SendMessage to the first radio with BM_SETCHECK value I see both the 2 radio buttons selected.
How to do that? Do I have to send some Click message better than BM_SETCHECK?

If you do it programmatically, like that, you have to send a message to uncheck the second button and vice versa.

Actually that it's NOT true, unless both radio buttons have the Group property set.
If the Lord God Almighty had consulted me before embarking upon the Creation, I would have recommended something simpler.

Only the first one in the group should have the WS_GROUP style. All buttons without the WS_GROUP style after the first button belong to the same group. The next button with the WS_GROUP style starts the next group.

FYI I tried also with CheckRadioButton() function, but it doesn't work.
It returns true as if it works, but i cannot see any change on my window.
I will try what you just suggested me.

If both buttons belong to the same group, this happens automatically.

I just ran into a similar issue the other day. I had 2 checkboxes and I wanted to be able to select both but everytime I selected one the other other was automatically unchecked. I solved my problem by selecting the "Group" property on the second checkbox. Removing the Group property from both your radio buttons may solve your problem. That is how mine were originally.

Doubtful. In addition, both (radio or checkbox) buttons must be next to each other in the z-order. Otherwise, Windows will not know they are related, regardless of the WS_GROUP style.

It is true, my checkboxes were next to each other. But what I said was true. When I had no WS_GROUP style selected for either one I got one or the other. When I selected WS_GROUP on the second checkbox I could then select both or just one. It wont hurt to try and if it works, it is very simpl. Kinda like me.

Hey Folks,
Newbie question. Using MS Visual C++ 6.0 . I have a large project that I would like to keep intact but continue to work on it under a new name. Say I had a project named fred with all of its associated files and I wanted to make a copy of it named sally in a new directory. How would I do that without hosing up everything? Thanx.

Just copy the whole solution directory and give it a new name, and all should be good

Coupled with renaming some of the project's files (e.g., fred.dsw --> sally.dsw), and modifying the project's .dsp and .dsw files (they internally reference fred).

Yes! Wonderful. After rebuilding all and finding all of the #includes that were referenced to "fred", "sally" seems to work. Thanx a million.

Hi,
I made a connection to .dbf file using Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver and then trying to fetch schema information by using SQLColumns but it is taking 1-2 minute time to return.
Instead when I am using CDatabase class and connecting through a DSN it return in a moment can anyone suggest why it is taking so much time and please suggest if any solution.

Hallo all,
I supose that many of you will use the grid of Chris Maunder - it seems to be almost perfect. But I have one problem (more of course , but one that is so serious that I have now to decide to use it or not).
I'm using the grid in a view, and I always have to click in the grid first, before I con scroll with the keyboard. So I cannot work without mouse. After clicking, it's perfect. But I have an MDI-progam, and it's making me nervous to have to click into the grid every time after changing the window.
Thought that I made something wrong but tried it even with the demo-program 'gridctrl_in_view' - the same probelm???
Any answer would be helpful and I would be happy if I could decide to use this grid, Gerard

What if you use SetFocus to set the keyboard focus to the grid control?

I tried
m_pGridCtrl->SetFocusCell(2,4);
for example, but it doesn't change the situation. It focuses this cell, but the keybord doesn't work anmore (it works's, if I click in the grid with the maouse)
Good idea, but unfortunatly This problem is for me like 'Only a step for the programmer but a great step for all users'
Do you know a way to simulate a mouse-click prgrammaticaly?? Even if this destroys the existng selections - I could live with this becouse of the increadable advantages of this grid!!
