Hi.My question is how in Windows 2003 to create a user with this restrictions:
1.User cannot shutdown
2.user cannot use right click..
3.user cannot apply any administration at all..
Please help cause Im in desperate need..

You can Use Active Dirctory For Section 1 & Some Of Section 3.
But About section 2,I don't Understand Wath you need.
Maybe You can Use a program to disable right-click.

Open the mmc (just type mmc in the run dialog box) click add the local policy. Also, once you create the user check what security groups the user is in and the permissions and rights of the user. On server 2003 it can be done the same just edit domain policy/GPO instead of local and disable logon local. Depending on how often your gpo updates you may want to run a GPupdate command in the command console. hope this helps.

Does anyone know if i need to run sysprep for vista if i am cloning with Symantec Ghost solution 2 ?
Planning deployement of 40 pc's all same hardware so I was thinkin sysprep would not be needed as hardware config all the same.
anyone with some knowledge on this would be appreciated

sysprep was traditionally needed in order to generate new system security identifiers. If you don't do this you can have problems with security on the network.

Hi
I am using Windows XP Remote Desktop Connection to connect up to another machine, with local resources (hard drives) being made available to the connection. When I try to copy a file from my local system to the remote drive, the connection cuts off... Is there anything I need to setup or configure so that I can do this?

Using that feature just is slow, I have used it and I did not have to setup anything extra. Make sure the remote server doesn't have throttling on.
The only way to speed up a Macintosh computer is at 9.8 m/sec/sec.

I am actually not sure. I am not even 100% sure throttling is an option with RDP. I do know that somewhere on there server there are different timeout variables, and since tranfering files in the way takes a while the timeout may be what is causing the disconnect.
I am sorry I can't give step by step but google about timeouts and RD and RDP.

There is no driver installed,want to do without driver.

Without the driver, you don't have access to the hardware. Without the hardware access, you don't have a volume. With the volume, you don't have a filesystem.
Basically, you can't.

But here in the function the first parameter is the directory pointer.But iam not having any directory pointer, iam having only the device handle(pendrive)
Iam not having any driver installed.

i want to start a project but i don't know where to start and maybe someone here could give me an idea. i would like to create an application that will do the same thing as that in unix/linux OS where you can group running applications into groups depending on which of the "group box"* is active when the application is started. also by dragging and dropping each application can be "transferred" to and from each of these group box. additionally the taskbar will only display applications that are in the active "group box"
*it might be called something else but i am not familiar what is called.
*this "group box" usually appear on the lower right corner of linux systems' desktop.

I bought a DSL-2640T Wireless ADSL Router. There is a LED indicator for WLAN. But When I switched on, That indicator doesn't come. That mean, wireless is not working or we have to configure before it use? I have no any wireless network. Just I want to check that router. Please can anybody help me ?

I think your router might come with a manual. Try to check the product manual then it might give you some information.

That is really hard for you if you do not have any other wireless network to test with this device. You should have at least one wireless network beside of this router.
Hey... If you do not have any other wireless network, what is the purpose that you purchase this router?

Some routers come with WLAN enabled and a unique preset encryption key, others come with WLAN disabled (and maybe a preset encryption key). The goal is to prevent you from accidentally running an open access point.
Nonetheless, you should be able to check that from your routers administration interface. You have to be connected to the router somehow, be it by ethernet or serial connection, otherwise having a router does not make any sense at all. And if you are connected, that probably also gives you access to the routers administrative interface (web-based or custom software). Try pointing your browser to the routers ip-address and/or preset DNS name (e.g. http://fritz.box or 192.168.178.1 for AVM Fritzboxes). Then navigate to the WLAN settings and check if it is enabled or not.

In my experience they all come with wireless enabled and no encryption, but maybe they've finally started to think about out-of-box security.

Hi, my laptop use windows xp tablet pc edition. I just install internet explorer 7 on my computer. But after installation, I found that the font style in IE 7 display like smooth edge of font. I'm sure that I didn't enable the smooth edge of font in windows appearance.
Deoes anyone know how could it disable the smooth edge of font in IE 7?

I 'me not sure, but does it help when you uncheck 'Always use ClearType for HTML' under Tools/Options/Advanced/Multimedia?
