It stands for comma seperated values.
as, in, like, this
and, then, like, this
Excel can read them and write them

Does anyone have a quick and simple bit of code for accessing the NTFS Access Control list of a file or directory?

how can i dynamically call a windows user control in a windows Form.

You mean add one ? Just create it, position it and add it to the form's controls collection.

What's the best way to make an VB2005 application language independent so all the resources in it could be fast updatable to the targeted language: a separate dll, an xml file, ...?
Thanks in advance,

Just use the build in support (resx files which will compile into satalite DLLs). If it is a small home project you can use a custom XML format as well though I can't see why you would possible want to do that.
If you plan to use professionel translation services, it is vital you stick to the standard formats so no custom preprocessing/postprocessing of your file format is required.

I'm trying to do it with the satellite DLLs but I can't find it. I've added strings in the Resources but after building the application I can't locate the satellite dll.
Is there something else that is needed?
Thanks again,
Marc Soleda

What is it written in ? .NET 2.0 doesn't work under 98. I believe .NET 1.1 requires W98 SE.

At least you should install the Framework you've used. Any install packaging software should permit it but IMO one of the best, tiny and opensource is InnoSetup and ISTool[^]
Hope it helps !!!

Hi,
How i can disable right click in web browser in vb.net project
please give me an idea if any one have
Thanks,
Bye

It has nothing to do with VB.NET, the only code that runs on a browser is javascript. It's annoying when sites do it, but if you google, you're bound to find examples of jscript code for killing right click.

Assuming it is the Internet Explorer web browser that you have embedded into your form/project, you can disable the right-click context menu by setting the WebBrowser property IsWebBrowserContextMenuEnabled to False .
I hope this helps,

The IDE should give you the option when you open it. I think there's a vss file in your project directory you can delete, as well.

Hi there
I am using VB .NET (2005) and I created a project that exports some data to Excel.
I would like to assure that my project will be functioning for all the versions of Office (excel) of the end user.
For example I use Office 2003. If I install my application to PC that uses an older version of Office, lets say Office 2000, will it work correct?
If no, do you have any solution for that? Are there any libraries that will resolve the problem?
Thank you in advance

System.Net.IPAddress.Parse("") is giving FormatException in window server 2003, but not in window XP.
Do anyone know what is the reason for this?
Thank you!

Hi guys,
How to lock the text portion of the ComboBox, but at the same time allows the items from the drop down list to be selected? Meaning that it only allows the selection of items but does not allow the text to be edited manually by users.
I already set the Locked Property to TRUE but it didn't work. It locked both the text editing as well as the selection item from the list..HELP!!!
Nway, im using VB6. Really appreciate your help.. Thanx in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean ? If you don't allow typing, the user can just select items from the list. If you allow typing, they can type anything they want. What behaviour do you want to allow ? If you want to let them type in only stuff from the list, you need to write a custom control ( shouldn't be hard )

Thanx Christian,
But actually the behavior that i want is that the program does not allow the user to edit the ComboBox text, instead the user can only select the item from the ComboBox list. Thanx for ur help and i apologize for any inconvenient.

OK, that's easy, set the behaviour from DropDown to DropDownList.

I tried using the DropDownList already and it works.. thanx a lot..
Btw, i used this in the main form. After selecting the item in the ComboBox list, a new form will appear. Then after closing the new form, it will return back to the main form. So when the program return to the main form, is it possible to empty the text in the ComboBox when using the DropDownList behavior?
