hardly a surprise considering today is the official launch day I knew it had to be this question before I scrolled down.

What I found unbelievable was the amount of free advertising MS got through all of the UK media coverage of the release of Vista. I can't see the 6 o'clock news having a main item about Ford releasing a new model of car, or Dulux releasing a new colour of emulsion. I don't like to see my license fee going on what is essentially advertising for MS.

I bought my laptop in July and immediately wiped the drive and installed Vista beta 2, and I've been using various builds ever since.

But my software works on Vista. Hopefully my competition isn't so masochistic.

Works on Vista or Works only on Vista?
YOU wouldn't need to resort to self-mutilation just to have your software running under Vista.
"We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganised. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganising: and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress, while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralisation."

Well, he used to write shell extensions for fun a few years ago - so perhaps you have a point there

True. Windows Vista already is a normal desktop OS for him.

Hah! I'm still running beta 1! Well, not running exactly, I never power up that system, it sits in a closet.

I beat you, I have been using regularly since the February CTP.
Previously I did install it but did not use it.

Wow, you're brave

I have been using vista ever since beta 1 and I can't live without it anymore
Although all the software I've created in the last few months runs on w2k/xp/w2k3/vista.
