I am writing a program in Visual C# Express 2005, and I need to know if it can be done the way I am doing it. Here a my couple concerns:
1.) I have my Windows Forms app and a Windows service compiled into the same EXE. Will that affect my performance in any way? Or render anything unusable? At this point, the service appears in the Services console (services.msc) but I am unable to Start it.
2.) I need to install this service on multiple computers on my domain.... at runtime of my main form. Is there any way I can do this? Or would I have to install the service over the network ina script? My account is administrator of the other computers, so I should be able to do this, I think.
3.) If anyone knows of any easier way to run a couple of DOS commands on a large group of remote computers, rather than a Windows Service, could you tell me? I'd be much obliged.

Why? It's not that hard to separate them into different projects.

You will definitely have to have an NT service on each computer. And you should definitely have to install the service on each computer by script. The script's not that hard, just installutil. But you say DOS commands almost like you're using System.Diagnostics.Process[^] to run stuff from the command prompt. In that case, why not just write a quick VBScript and run it on each computer?

I have runnig server and client conected to this server..is there any way how server can get public client's ip?
tcp connection, win32 app, C# .NET2.0..

If the server and client are behind the same firewall, they will have the same public ip (unless either has a dedicated ip address). Otherwise the client will use the public ip to communicate with the server.

it's either you run your server on the gateway machine OR you implement NAT

I just want to know if there is any functions (or method) which can said me..this user is loged from XX.XX.XX.XX..
I dont want exactly piece of code..some article or tutorial or link to microsoft help..just any started point..

That depends entirely on what I mentioned in my previos post.
If you want to get the public IP for a computer, and it is behind a firewall, you have to communicate with some server on the other side of the firewall that will return the IP that the computer is using outside the firewall.
If you want to get the IP address used in one of the network connections on the computer, you have to examine the connections. How that is done have been asked here before (probably many times), so you should be able to search for it.

I want get the public IP (btw look at the topic subject)..And I dont know ho to do this..
The internal IP is easy to get..just used IPAdress or Dns classes..;)

You're not understanding. The public IP isn't available to you with an easy API call or something. The address you get for the client's name depends entirely on using the CORRECT name and the viewpoint of the name service resolving that name.
For example, one of your machines, call it SERVER1, has an IP address of 192.169.0.10. It sits behind a NAT and firewall, completely shielded from the Internet. Your ISP assigns you a DNS name, which your server knows NOTHING about and can't get!!, possibly something like user192834.city.state.us.comcast.net. Which name are you going to use??
Keep in mind that your can only get the machines local name, not it's ISP name. Now, if you ask the name service inside your local network what the address of SERVER1, you'll get 192.168.0.10. If you ask the ISP's name service what that address is, you'll get a failure because it doesn't know anything about SERVER1. The reverse is also true.
Even the client has the same problem. It can't possibly know it's public address without asking a specialized web application out on the Internet. This application examines an HTTP request comming from the machine to get the information built up in the request IP headers as the request is passed from your machine to your router and so on through your ISP. It then uses that information to tell you what your public IP is.

Yes, that is obvious, but as I still don't know where the server is in relation to the client, I can't tell you which method to use.
If they are in the same local net, you have to use a server outside that local net to get the public ip. If they are on separate local nets, the public ip is what the server is using to communicate with the client.

I need help on how to use the Progress Bar.
I am instantiating a class and using a method in there to merge files. I want a progress bar to be displayed which will show what percentage of the total is completed.

Howdy!!
First, you have to set the maximum limit you want to reach (1) for example if you want to set this progress bar for measuring copied files, first you have to count your files "say you put their names in an array" then you should check (frequently/on flag changing basis) how many files had been copied so far "using some sort of if statement that might be included in a thread or timer" then increment the progress bar value by the percentage of the completion (FilesCopiedSoFar/TotalNumberOfFiles) and so on untill you reach the 100%
