Well you could use a javascript pop up box. The newer browser make a complete mess of this though (you will see what I mean).

Hi,
I'm looking for a free, and easy to use javascripteditor with intellisense. As a ASP.NET programmer I will try to use a little bit more JS.....but there is no intellisense in VS2005 and I need it!

Hi,
We have a folder on our LAN which is about 11GB in size.
I need to build a web interface to it which will allow users
to search the repository.
This is going to be an indexed based search, which means that
results will be dependent on the content of the files. This in
turn implies that we will need to index the contents first.
The filetypes are: office docs, pdf's and zips.
Any tools? frameworks? or suggestions regarding this?
I've heard of dotLucene, but when I tried it, the stupid tool
did nothing other than delete every file in the folder to be
indexed. Thank god I didn't try it on the actual LAN folder.
Please help. This is really urgent.

 I have bit of a challenge for the CRM guru’s. I have two applications on a users desktop/laptop, a thin client application and Microsoft CRM that needs to synchronies data. I need to integrate enterprise data from a java application stored in a local client side SQLServer database into a CRM application/database (client side, i.e. offline).
I need to do synchronisation CRM client side because the core java application can change client side for a period of up to to a week before the user can go online and CRM need to reflect some of these changes, i.e. application is offline, for instance a field officer on a remote location, disconnected from the CRM server, updates within the enterprise application user details which in turns needs to be directly update/synchronized in CRM. It works like this, a thin java application runs client side to serve basic offline application needs for the enterprise application, any changes to accounts or activities on the Java application, i.e. separate SQL server database needs to be synchronized with Microsoft CRM to make the save seamless for the user, thinking it is saved for both applications.
Initially I thought of the CRM SDK, trying to do this using the CRM web services. Only issue is, this works server side but NOT client side, i.e. can’t get the CRM webservices to work client side (spend weeks on this). Thought there should be a client side API interface for CRM, but only found javascript in the SDK. I devised a screen scrapping exercise populating CRM via HTTP scrapping data from the java screens and populating the CRM screens, but not happy, is a bit ugly. Any ideas or references to similar implementations or a solution to the problem will be highly appreciative!

Could anybody please advise me, how should I build an UI because I would like to display and edit the word and excel files in a browser. Whats your Idea about sync fusion or aspose, I would like tot build UI for these products.
1. shall I build my UI for already existing product like aspose or syncfusion.
2. Can I build an UI using .Net framework. If so, please advise me how can I do it. If possible give me some code snippet too.
3. Otherwise please advise me some thing else too. Please.

If I was your boss and I found this site, I would fire you. If I was the client, and I found this site, I'd cancel the project. It's obvious that you are in way over your head, that's why you keep asking the same questions, because you have no idea what to do.
This[^] is what you should have done in the first place. You can host a windows form control in the browser. As a result, you can plainly build any UI you like, without any other technologies in the middle ( you're making this messy enough as it is ).
Either way, your site will both require the .NET framework, and for people to adjust their browser for 'full trust' in order to run your control. I don't see how that's better than ActiveX, it's about the same, but with more work for you. As we've been telling you, for days.

No, the .NET framework is incapable of building any sort of UI. It's more of an experimental thing. Of COURSE you can build a UI with C#.

Yeah Christian I can understand, I have been searching it in google, may be it is rare thing. And you said : dont accept the job : But it suddenly came. Initially they said for the Aspose, I did it. Then they want more flexible. Ok. I am on the way, and I asked them for time.

How have you defined the methods String and Date, and what kind of data do they return? The code won't compile without them, so I can not verify your result, and it's impossible to say how the code should be working without seeing how the methods work.
Also, the code that you show can not produce the output that you show. You should show the actual code that you use and the actual output that it produces.
You have provided too little information for anyone to help you with your question.

That seems to be some actual code, at least, but there is still some information missing...
What language are you using, for starters? I thought that you were using C#, but that is not C# code. Is the Number method a built-in method? What does it do? Does the daydate variable contain the string representation of a date? If the Number method converts the string to a number, why would you do that? As a date is not a number, does it discard the part of the string that can not be interpreted as a number?

first, why are you referencing dates as numbers?
second, if the item is not included in the querystring then it will return null, comparing a number or string to null can return true.
if the value is null the issue can also be that the program does not know what to do and therefore just passes by as if nothing happened and not because the statement evaluated to true.
you can try this instead

I have a page which two forms. One form allows has several input controls including a select control with a large number of values within it. The seond form contains static results. When the user clicks on print from file menu the print dialog is displayed instantly for the first time. But for every alternate attempts to print the same page it takes some 5 min for the print dialog to come up.
The page is written in ColdFusion. When i comment out the script which renders the above mentioned select control the print functionality works fine.
Hiding the control by giving "visibility:hidden" for the select control while rendering doesn't help.
Since its ok if only the second form alone isprinted, i trapped the "onbeforeprint" event of IE to hide the user input form. Although it hides the form in the printed page, the print dialog still appears only after 5 min and the users have to wait till then.
Please let me know if there's any solution for this problem
