storing variables in web forms Kissy1622-Dec-06 0:30 Kissy16 22-Dec-06 0:30  Dear all, Here my qustions is,how to store a variable in asp.net webform??? I know storing variables in labels,session,viewstate. other than this can we use any other type??? bcz i need to store number of varibles to maintain its state. Give me suggestion.which i have to use to increase the speed of my application??? I need to store the state of the varibles,and if used more labels or session variables ,the speed of the application will decrease. Wat is This string type??Simple string varibales or anything.Whether it will maintain the state of the variable throughout the application??? Give me an idea. THanks for ur answer kissy Re: storing variables in web forms rama charan22-Dec-06 1:19 rama charan 22-Dec-06 1:19  what i mean is use a string to save a group of values seperated by commas or any separation character then then you can save it in the session variable so that it stays throught the application ... another way for saving data throughout the application is to use a common class for the complete application which has static variables which hold ur data as variables are static so they will have single copy and so u can maintain the values or state till the application ends.. hope i am clear now enjoy.. How much are you storing ? Viewstate is a bad option, because it increases the size of the pages going down to the client.  It's useful, to be sure, but it needs to be controlled, and not used for app wide values. Re: problem in debugging Nimit Patel22-Dec-06 1:23 Nimit Patel 22-Dec-06 1:23  Hi, I continue here from above reply from click on EDIT button, click checkbox of Anonymous access, browse and enter -> IUSER_[your computer name] ex. my computer name is "nimit" then IUSER_NIMIT click checkbox of allow IIS to control password In Authenticated Access Box checked "integrated windows authentication" now you check your web config file for the debuging = true I hope you will check this all option and get your debuging again. Open you website in the browser. In VisualStudio (if this is, what you are using), go to debug-> attach to process. Choose aspnet_wp if you are using XP.
