In ASP.NET 2.0, you can add a reference to the "Microsoft Office 11.0 Control Library" dll.
There may be something within that object that can achieve what you're looking to do. The only catch is I believe it's only compatible with ms office 2003 or higher.

Hello
I am new with asp 2.0.
I created a question.aspx page with a formview control. Then I inserted a TextBox1 in the formview Item Template.
My Problem:
How can I write a Value to the TextBox1 in the Formview Item Template?
If I write the following code in the question.aspx.vb page:
Partial Class question
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
TextBox1.text = "hello"
End Sub
End Class
then I'm receiving an error message: TextBox1 is not declare.
If I put the TextBox1 Control outside the formview then I can write a value in the TextBox1.
Do you have a tip or could you recommend me some tutorials to solve the problem?
plz help

I have never used the formview control. But I guess it would be
dim txt as textbox = formview1.findcontrol("TextBox1")

It solve the problem. But I do not know , why it is necessary.
Thank you.

Or find this truly mystical and magical tool, that the gurus like to call google.
the last thing I want to see is some pasty-faced geek with skin so pale that it's almost translucent trying to bump parts with a partner - John Simmons / outlaw programmer

Dear All,
Client is accessing Weblogic server. While seeing log on server we have seen that client is accessing a file but the file doesnt resides on server.
The file name is
%C2%A2.gif .
We only want that we palce any gif file with this name so that server dont generate 404 ERROR (FILE NOT FOUND).
But when we place this file %c2%a2.gif in desired directory the server doesnt able to recognize this.
Please suggest me which file name can be used for dauging server and for avoiding error log.

Scored a 5. I didn't even want to waste my time replying to the original post. But you are correct.

You can not use url encoded file names on the server and expect them to match the url encoded url. You have to decode the url to determine the file name.
The file name that the client is trying to access is probably:
¢.gif

It's amazing to see how much work some people will go through just to avoid a little bit of work.

It's reliable (as it's part of SQL server) and flexible up to a point. It really depends what you want to do. You'll find more info on the microsoft site.

Hi.
In my webapplication, i never handle errors by try catch (my code language is c#).
But I handle all errors in PageError and Applicationerror events. But after handling them, I want to show my message in another page. I do that on this way:
Response.Write("window.open('errorpage.aspx')");
But I have a problem. On this way, the first page shows the exception and the code which error was raised. But I want to show the original page, because I show my message in another page.
Please offer my method to do the way which I want to handle my errors.
Thanks
Rastgar

Nice programming practice
Why not handle the error, create a logging object that handles the exception and pops up a page with the info?

Debug and eliminate them, then they won't show up and you won't have to worry about displaying them.
only two letters away from being an asset
