make a new form of your instance at the strting class and change its visible to false.
do this for all forms and whenever u want to view each form ,use form.show method and for closing wrtie form.hide and make a sub to update context of controls when it is going to be shown.

When the application starts check the date of when the C:\Program Files\Your Application\ was created or better yet use Registry to store an installation date that is encrypted. Only your application will be able to de-crypt the install date.

Hello,

SQL Server 2005, VS 2005

I have a checked list box. The user will select a combination of staff members from the checked list box. This will display these staff members and their tasks that they have to do. Also I have a additional 4 check boxes on the form, where the user can select the prority to be shown. i.e from the checked list box, check staff members 1, 5, 8, 12. and display the prority as high. There 4 prority check boxes (low, normal, urgent, and very urgent)

All are dislayed in a datagrid on the form.

Currently there a 15 staff member that will be in the checked list box, but this could grow as more stafff members are added.

My problem is Writing a select query for each of the possible combinations of staff members and the prority.

I could end up writing many many select queries for each combination.

Is there a simple way to write a select query for this type of situation?

You could read through the selection in the list box and build a comma delimtered string to use as a part of your query.

Something like this, where details is a list of fields you want to get back:

SELECT details 
FROM StaffTable 
WHERE StaffID IN (1, 5, 8, 12)

Hello,

I’ve developed ATL Control using VC++ 2003 to use it as GUI component for different programming environments. It works fine with .NET and Borland builder, but when I try to use it with VB6 or VC++6 I got ‘Permission denied’ error. It happened when I call ::GetClientRect(m_hWnd, &ClientRect) function, where m_hWnd is a private member of this control (handle of control’s window). What’s wrong? How to fix it?

when i try to use Reporting Services to render a report from aspx page
(web app) (vb.net) by using ReportingServices.dll referennces
i get this erorr :

I’ve been searching all over the web for the answer to this question I finally find it... and I have to pay to get it. Sleepy | :zzz:

to quote the article that describes my problem exactly (he does it well)

If you open an Explorer window and make a change via Tools -> Folder Options -> View, Explorer updates all currently opened windows with these changes.<br />

I'm looking for the mechanism that will do the same if I make a change to the same registry key.<br />

The key is located at "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced"<br />
<br />
An example would be setting HideFileExt to 0 and have explorer update the listview and show file extensions.<br />
<br />
Simply doing a refresh on the Window doesn't work as Explorer doesn't re-read the settings automatically.<br />
<br />
I have tried more than a few methods trying to get explorer to update itself without luck.<br />
<br />
I've sent:<br />

SendMessage(hWnd, LVM_UPDATE, 0, 0)<br />
SendMessage(hWnd, WM_SETTINGCHANGE, 0, 0)<br />

And sending commands that try to force an update based on Icon changes do not work either.<br />

At best, I can get Explorer to eventually read the changes, but the timing is random.<br />

Did anyone have experience with DB2 databse. I need to connect to DB2 from my ASP.NET (VB) application and I'm not sure how to do that. I have dvelopment machine (I work on it) and DB2 is installed on another machine.

Thanks. I've seen this one. The problem I have is that the version we have is not V.8 it's V.7 and I don't have tools to connect to DB2. Any idea?

When I connect to a DB2 (in Visual Studio 7 or 8) I add a reference to IBM DB2 UDB for iSeries .Net Provider and then declare objects like this:

Dim cmd As New IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries.iDB2Command<br />
Dim conn As New IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries.iDB2Connection<br />
Dim da As New IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries.iDB2DataAdapter

I'm not sure where you can get this or if it is free and available for download, but maybe that will help in your search.

Hi I am developing a program in VBA6 that needs to run Microsoft Excel remotely.

I can't use CreateObject("appName", "serverName") as I am limited to using VBA6.

Can any one point me in the right direction of how to achieve control over remote programs?

You can run a remote COM server. You cannot run an application remotely. It's not CreateObject("appName", "serverName"). It's CreateObject("progID", "serverName").

What's wrong with using CreateObject in Excel? It works without any problem.

Hello,

here is a function's signatures for 2 PowerPoint effects event handlers:
SlideShowNextClick(SlideShowWindow Wn,Effect ef)
The effect onNextClick is ef.

SlideShowNextBuild(SlideShowWindow Wn)
What is a current executed effect??

At the moment I have next implementation:

1. By handle SlideShowNextClick store next effect name ("xyz").
2. By handle SlideShowNextBuild execute my bussiness logic (for effect "xyz").

The problem occurs if the current slide has more than 1 effect on page and "go back" button will be used. ==> I can't catch "goback"-event, thus I can't be sure that my stored "NextEffect" is a next effect realy.

Is it possible to get number/name of current executed effect directly in SlideShowNextBuild handler?

I have a problem regarding button of vb6. As u all know we are able to put picture on the button but the problem i am facing is tt when i click the button i wan the button to change to another pic. Is tis possible and how can it be done? lets say the name of button is btnName. So i use btnName.picture den i not sure wat to add behind already.
