The way to get the path to the root of the users profile is to use the Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable method:
Dim userPath As String = Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("USERPROFILE")
The proper way to get the path to the current users Cookies folder is different:
Dim cookiePath As String = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Cookies)

Hello,
I have a tabbed form that contains hundreds of controls. Way to many to program a _valueChanged event
for every single one of them. Is there a form or tab level event that keeps track of its child controls and whether or not their value property has changed ?
All i want to do is flip a boolean if a control's (any control) value has changed.
If you have a simple way to do this I would be obliged if you would share it.
Thank you very much,
Shawn

I don't think you can. I've tried doing the same with a _MouseOver event, and ended up changing each one anyway.

Just use a For Each statement, like this:
For Each foundFile As String In My.Computer.FileSystem.GetFiles("C:\", FileIO.SearchOption.SearchTopLevelOnly)
ListBox.Items.Add(foundFile)

You didn't change "ListBox" to the name of your list box. I.e. ListBox1 or FileList.

You want to actually write a web browser ? That is, not use the web browser control ?

OK, will you support ActiveX controls, javascript, etc ? How many years do you have to do this, assuming you'll be alone ?

I have a multi-page tiff that's over 1meg. I get an 'out of memory' error trying to open it from the method 'fromfile' I have tried 'fromstream' and can't get past 'an invalid parameter used' when everything that I'm using is correct. My ultimate goal is to get a count of how many pages(images) are embedded in the image file so that I can tell how many images a java applet can expect in the file. This code works but craps out of certain files and I don't know why... Any help would be appreciated...
Dim oFile As New FileStream(sTiffFilePath, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)
oImage = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(oFile, True, True)
'exception -- invalid parameter used
or
oImage = Drawing.Image.FromFile(sTiffFilePath)
'exception -- out of memory
Dim oGuid As Guid = (oImage.FrameDimensionsList(0))
Dim oDimension As System.Drawing.Imaging.FrameDimension = New System.Drawing.Imaging.FrameDimension(oGuid)
iGetPageCount = oImage.GetFrameCount(oDimension)
oDimension = Nothing
oGuid = Nothing
oImage.Dispose()
oImage = Nothing

You'll have to check the compression used in the TIFF. GDI+ doesn't support JPEG compressed TIFF's.

HI,
I have a string eg. 000-000-000-000 and I want to replace the last "-" with an "_"
Can anyone help me to do this.
Thanks

hi,
String.Replace('-','_')
hope this works.
nitin...

Try using regular expressions like:
regex.Replace( yourString, "-", "_")
where regex is the regular expression and yourString is the string in question. Hope this sheds some light
If you try to write that in English, I might be able to understand more than a fraction of it. - Guffa
