hi guys, [ASP.Net VB.Net]
i'm having a datagrid binded with value at page load Event,
the datagrid has three sets of records combined together,
initially i show all the records
i placed three buttons for these threee types of Records
based on the user choice the records has to be filtered and shown in the grid.
[For Example, Take Exam Result of a Class]
initially i'll show all the student's result at page load event,
my three buttons, Total , Pass and Fail,
when the user clicks on Pass the grid has to show only the passed student,
similarly for Fail button and Total,]
Actually i want this to be done at client side,
whether i want to store the datagrid value in session and give to the datagrid or i have to use some other datasource,
could any one plz help me

You can try using the Filter, but I believe it requires a postback.

I prefer WROX editions . O'REILLY books are also very good (to my mind).
You can try this one.

Wrox are good books for learning as well as reference. O'Reilly books are more along the lines of reference books.

It differs in size like: short, long
You have to select according to your reqirement.

int16 is 2 bytes (8 bits x 2 = 16 Bits)
the range is -32,768 to 32,767
int32 is 4 bytes (8 bits x 4 = 32 Bits)
the range is -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647
int64 is 8 bytes (8 bits x 8 = 64 Bits)
the range is -9,223,372,036,854,775,808 to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807
the formula to calcuate the range is => - 2^(n-1) to 2^(n-1)-1 [n is the no. of bits]

They are the different sizes of ints (16 bit, 32 bit, 64 bit).
int defaults to 32 on XP.

Javascript thinks your values are strings and thus the + operator concatinates the strings instead of adding them.
You must force Javascript to think of your value as a number which you can do with a little quick n' dirty hack of subtracting 0 from it to "convert" it to an integer:
subForm.total.value = (m1 - 0)+ n1 ;
Should do it.
