I am a starter in using the ReportViewer control.
1.How to display the value of the fields dynamically i.e how i should bind the dataset values to the report document(.rdlc ) where i will be knowing these values only at runtime.
One more thing is basing on the criteria selected the stored procedure will be executed and where the values will be available at runtime
2. How to break the page on some criteria
ex.I am grouping on jobcode i.e if jobcode changes the records should be displayed in the next page
can anybody pls help me in fixing this by giving proper code

i have a tree in asp.net(c#) and i want when i rightclick on one it has my favorite choocise that i want.
for example: when i rightclick it has insert,edit,delete and when i push delete i can delete that item. or when i push on insert it hase a link for the other form.

I don't think you can right-click on any web-pages. It is used for functions in the web-browser.

What i am trying to acheive is display data in Gridview control where the data source is an xml file and allow editing.
The problem is visual web developer doesnt even have that control? Does anyone know how can that control be downloaded and plugged in to VWD? or suggest an alternative.
Tried using XMLDataSource object but doesnt work coz it doesnt allow editing.
cannot use SQLDataSource coz the data is from a xml file locally.

Simple great -- just found out that this control has been removed from ASP.NET 2.0 beta2.
Is there any other control / quick way to implement a similar thing? i.e. load a Xml data into gridview control and allow editing / sorting etc.

Sir,
I want to know the basic differcence between one , two and three tier architecture .
The knowledhe i have about them is
One Tr---The database resides in the appication eg Foxpro
Two tr---The client send request to the server and the server responds back to the client.
Three TR---The client send request to server and the server send request to the database and finally database responds back to the server and the server responds back to the client.
If there is any mistake please explain with only onme simple example.

A one-tier implementation is self-contained. It combines presentation, business, and data services.
Ex:
A stand alone PC running Microsoft Access.
A mainframe with attached one or more dummy terminals. A dummy terminal is just a physical point of contact with the mainframe.

My application is running on intranet. Around 25 computers are accessing the application simultaneously.Now the problem is when simultaneously more then one user is trying to update the single particular record , Then the database will select which new entry to update.I mean when a request is send to update the database .That particular record should be locked so that it can't be updated at that very time by another user.
Please help.
