i want count the number of character in textbox in asp.net.i.e. user enter only 30 character in textbox. and when user enter Character in text box the number of character left in textbox shown in lable i.e. if he/she enter 20 character the lable show character left 10 in lable.
so how can i do this.
if you suggest javascript then plese provide complete code because i know very litter about javascript & how to implement in asp.net.

when there's an error the whole site stops responding and the server needs to be restarted. this doesn't happen on local
when the exception is caugth by "try catch" the site is redirectod to error.aspx, the redirection is succesful but still the server stops responding

What's leading up to the exception? Are you doing intensive processing? Are you disposing of resources that you no longer need?

What are you doing in the code on catching the error...?

Can that be from any reason excepting runtime(when the code compiling)
İ mean i am not see or use the server i only think that this problem can be happen after an error. When the server restarts my site runs perfectly but after an hour the site downs..
The promlem can not solve from the server side..they said we dont know why it happens..and restarts server for solving problem..
İf we can say the problem based on a error(runtime or compiling)..would it helpfull to set all of my variables to null and again settinng they with their original values after i caught the error.. all of my variables define in a module..
Can this solve the problem..or do you have any suggestion about this problem..why it happens..

I've done a bit of searching around but cannot find any examples of someone retrieving an output parameter value after an ObjectDataSource.Insert() when it's invoked in codebehind.
objDS.InsertParameters["Name"].DefaultValue = txtContractorName.Text;
objDS.Insert();
how do I get the value of the parameter objDS.InsertParameter["myID"]....
Is this possible or do I need to create a control/form/profile etc parameter to access my output value?
