Like:
CString strText;
m_edit.GetWindowText(strText);
strText += "More data...";
m_edit.SetWindowText(strText); Another option is to move the insertion point to the end using SetSel() , and then replace what's there (which is nothing) using ReplaceSel() . Try 'em both to see which you prefer.

Hello,
I want to start programming a new Anti-Virus using MFC or .NET or whatever other C++ platform for Windows.
I know the "regular" C/C++ and have all the algorithms ready, but now I need to connect it to Windows' mail clients.
Can anyone help me with the proper approach ?
As I understand I'll need to listen to the POP3 and SMTP ports for data, but how do I know that I'm the first one to get and parse it ?
Say, I have an additional AV like NAV, and now I want to put mine before it:
i.e. I'll be the first to scan the mail data coming through the POP3 port and the last to scan the outgoing SMTP data.
For my first experiment I'd like to change all the 'A' letters of the incoming mail to '66' and all 'B' letters of all outgoing mail to '88'.
Is there anywhere a piece of SW that I can use for implementing this course of action with some windows dialogs (not a consol application) ?
Thank you,
Jimmy

Well I have a mini-project just for my own personal curiosity where I've setup a propertysheet and added a number of propertypages to it. So far so good, no issues. However on on of the propertypages I want to add a toolbar. Now there is quite a bit of info out there on toolbars but for the life of me I can't work out what I'm missing so I'm hoping one of you might point me to some source code where this is done or point out what I'm missing.
Below is the code I added to add the toolbar to what I think should be the property page.
int CClientMgrPage::OnCreate(LPCREATESTRUCT lpCreateStruct)
{
if (CPropertyPage::OnCreate(lpCreateStruct) == -1)
return -1;
// TODO: Add your specialized creation code here
CFrameWnd *pFrameWnd=(CFrameWnd *)GetParent();
if (!m_CMgr_ToolBarCtrl.CreateEx(this, TBSTYLE_FLAT, WS_CHILD|WS_VISIBLE|CBRS_TOP) ||
!m_CMgr_ToolBarCtrl.LoadToolBar(IDR_Emgr_TOOLBAR)) {
TRACE0("Failed to create Client Mgr Toolbar");
}
m_CMgr_ToolBarCtrl.EnableDocking(CBRS_ALIGN_ANY);
pFrameWnd->EnableDocking(CBRS_ALIGN_ANY);
pFrameWnd->DockControlBar(&m_CMgr_ToolBarCtrl);
return 0;
}
With this code in place I trigger an assertion when I click on the tab containing the Toolbar.
CDockContext::CDockContext(CControlBar* pBar)
{
ASSERT(pBar != NULL);
ASSERT(pBar->m_pDockSite != NULL); <-------
}
Any ideas?

CListCtrl::GetItemText(...);
Use it while iterating through the elements of the list control using a loop.
Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

You can use GetItemCount for get items of List and use from a loop with GetItemText for read of listctrl.

Sir,
The option for writing the ASP.net application is provided in the vc++.net.
But i don't know how to make a web application invc++.net.
Please help.

I thing you are talking about ASP.net application with CLR . CLI forum[^] may be helpful for you.

The option is provided to write a web service.
You've been asking this for days. What do you want here ? You CANNOT wirte an ASP.NET web site in C++. When you ask about VC++.NET web sites, I assume that is what you mean. It's also possible to write web sites in c++ that are ISAPI filters, etc, but I can't imagine any reason to do that, beyond self hatred.
Why are you asking this over and over ? Why don't you listen to what people are telling you ? What's your motivation for using C++ for a web site ?

Hi all
I'm trying to combine together MFC collection classes using CString objects.
I'm compiling with the command line using the following:
cl /Zi /EHsc /D "DEBUG" /D "_DEBUG" TestCollection.cpp /link /NODEFAULTLIB:LIBCMT.lib
When I compile the application without the option /D "UNICODE" and /D "_UNICODE" I've got on the console the output
ITA: <strange character=""> buono
ENG: it's good.
Hoping that UNICODE will fix the strange character I insert the 2 related unicode defines in the command line batch and the otput now is
ITA: 00A96FF8
ENG: 00A96FA8
Do you know why?
Bye Manu

A Unicode string is a short *. I think you need wcout. cout is printing out the memory address of your pointer. You could also use wstring to store the value.
