Hello everybody - how about someone attempt a treeview/listview hybrid control. Although what I notice is that every control that attempts this seems to create these controls from scratch. I'm sure theres gotta be an easier way to use Microsoft's controls and just ?joining? them together somehow. Am I wrong? Comments?

I have some code laying around and a little bit of free time so would anyone be interested in the following:
Connection sharing using DCOM (I'd have to make some modifications to make it more generic)
XML document class (using MSXML 3)
Web based ToDo List with an Active Desktop interface
ISAPI Extention for uploading or downloading files
Let me know what you think of each one.
Like it or not, I'm right.

Hi everybody,
Iam in a process of creating a html based photo album (to be burned on a CD). I would like to have a option to save the image displayed to the users disk by providing the common "Save As" dialog box. Any help would be appreciated. bye.

ok friends,
I think i myself figured it out, actually all we need to do is open the image using a window.open method and execute the script document.execCommand("saveas") on the opened window object and we get the save as screen. bye.

Dear All,
I am a student of Computer Sciences. I need some help regarding Network Interface Card.
I have two network cards installed in my system. I want to make a program which should assign single IP to both cards. I have two independent networks attatched with one machine. One network is attatched with NIC1 and other is with NIC2. I want both network to send data over one IP address. Can anyone help me to build such application.
If anyone can guide in such application, please do it.
your help will be highly appreciable

I don't think Windows would know how to handle that. I know they used to make dialup modems that phsyically combined lines so in theory if you made some software you could rig it up, but I wouldn't even no where to start.
Sorry

I am considering authoring a series of articles on the development lifecycle. My idea is to mimic the Duwamish books and Fitch & Mather type series MSDN does. I will choose a product and then document all the steps to properly design, develop, debug, deploy and refine it.
It would need to be a relatively small project for me to have time to complete it, so I was trying to come up with ideas as to the type of project to do.
Does this sould like the type of article anyone would like to see? If so, what project would you like to see. (Remember, it can't be too large of a project.)
Thanks,

*Excellent* idea.
There were about half a dozen people looking to write articles on non-programming issues such as design, deployment, testing - and even stuff like work place relations and survival.
I'd be very keen to have these sorts of articles and would like to open a new dedicated section.
cheers,

I have already begun working on it. I am planning on doing a 6-10 day project and having one article per day with a complete write-up on each days activities along with code, etc.

Matt, thats sounds really good!

Articals like these would be cool... I've been working with computers for years but being a student means I normally don't get the same sort of experience a full time employee would get in a company. Would be nice to get views and articals on that sort of stuff..
This shoudl probably be in teh suggestions forum.

This is a very good idea, I myself have considered writing an article on the best framework for the development of applications. Keep us all up to date on where you are with this, otherwise I might actually do something like this in my nonexistent free time

Is it possible to include Delphi Libraries into VC++. Please anyone Help me is it possible. If yes, Please explain me in detail

AFAIK, no.
Borland cooked up a few new keywords in their "C++ compiler" to be able to use their Object Pascal modules, but it's not portable.
Also is the problem that Borland (as the only Win32 compiler vendor I'm aware of) still uses OMF (or whatever it was since Win16) while the rest of the world speaks (X)COFF.

If you are writing about the VCLs, VC++ cannot directly use them. The alternative is to creative an ActiveX control or component derived from the VCL or create a Win32 API DLL.

Can anyone give me some advice on writing an automatic updater or simply point me to an already existing example?
Some of the feature I am looking for:
- check for updated files over http and ftp protocols or simply file based for Intranet applications
- replace running executables itself or DLLs used by the application with the updates
- just show new documentation, tips, announcements etc.. when available
- Allows updates based on dates or on file versions
Thanx ,
Daniel
