I wonder how many members of the code project members enjoy making games?
Aren't there enough to start a forum for game designing?

With the changes to the response to posts emails I don’t get a link back to the post any more. Is this the intended behavior? It was rather nice to have a URL to click to go view the response.
I get (static text no URL)
"Do not hit 'reply' to this email: To reply, click here.
User X has posted a reply to your message at "(Managed) C++/CLI":"
It might be my email client (web mail), but a response earlier today had a link back.
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

The "(Managed) C++/CLI" text should be a hyperlink. Can you do a view source and let me know what you see?

Your reply was the same as the one mentioned:

Got a reply from the lounge and its correct.

How about a messageboard/articles specifically for Javascript? It's very hard to make nice, user-friendly websites without adding at least a little custom javascript to the .aspx. And I've always had trouble finding a well organized site to reference javascript.
Um, the web development board pretty much covers all aspects of web-development.

Right, I'm just saying "Web-Development" is a very broad topic and I think it would be more convenient to have it separated out a little bit.

I try to send the new article submission and get the following:
submit@codeproject.com
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<submit@codeproject.com>:
host mail4.codeproject.com [69.10.233.34]: 550 not local host
codeproject.com, not a gateway
A bug?
Thanks in advance,
Dmitry.

Is a message poster's vote weighed more when he votes for a message under his post?

I noticed that there is a guard on the forums to prevent multiple messages being posted in succession, I think it would also be an idea to limit the message size for a user within a given time period.
If you take a look at a thread on the C++ forum here[^], you will notice the user decided to copy and paste the entire contents of 4 (four) source files. Since we download the messages whether we intend to read them or not, posts like this only cause extra bandwidth for your server, and extra time for us users.

I've updated my article yesterday, sept 17,2006. I've checked "mark article as updated" checkbox.
Then also , its not showing as updated.

Articles can be marked as being updated at most once per week.

Oh ! I thought other way.
That means it'll be marked as updated, from next friday, is it ?

No, it means it won't be marked as updated if you update it within a week of posting/updating it.

that reminds me something i wanted to ask you about article submission.
it seems that mail submissions are more prioritary than wizard submission. the fact is that the articles submitted by mail are so numerous that the submission queue is badly rejecting old articles (submitted with the wizzard) to the bottom. i take one of my two articles for example (submitted on 10 Apr 2006, and still unedited), as much as one articles by ThatsAlok submitted on 15 Jun 2005, still unedited. on the other side, an article like Cedric Moonen's Charting control, submitted on 11 May 2006 were edited 2 weeks later...
anything you can do for that ?
thanks in advance...
Yeah, I was wondering about that too. I submitted an article via the wizard that ended up attracting a fair number of positive votes here[^], and it's languished as unedited for over a month.
I'd like to link to it from elsewhere (and, you know, drive eyeballs and ad revenue to your site), but I won't until it gets its permanent home or all of the other links will have to be updated.
Is editing only for the emailed articles now?
Thanks.

The simple fact is we need more editors. Smitha is working her bum off handling submissions and as many direct posts she can, but their are so many new articles.
We're currently looking for new editors.

Now that I've moved house to 15 minutes walk from where I work, it had freed up an extra 2.5 hours of my day. Once I get broadband set up again, can I help?
