Hello
Streaming images is different from streaming video, and both are different from streaming live video. what are you trying to do?

A long time ago I wrote a system for collecting pictures from cameras. Some of these pictures was taken upon request from the user while others was taken regularly. I have now begun to think of a new modern version of the system. And I want a smart solution where det system knows if there is a user waiting for a picture(maybe start a new collection!?!) and when a new picture arrives it sholud be automatically sent to the user.
An ideal situation would be if the interval between the pictures can vary very much, from a few seconds to several hours.
And the next step for such a system is to provide other auto-updated data/temperature, humidity...) to the users.
My english is not the best but I hope I can make my self understood.

Allright!!
So, you want to braodcast a continuous sequence of still images at regular/request bases. Well!! One design model I can think of will be:
1- A Server connected to the camera(s), which take the pictures at the lowest interval supported
2- A webservice that will act as a gatekeeper to the pictures database
3- Distibuted Desktop client applications that will make the request
4- The webservice will receive the request from each Client by IP and process the Date/Time of the request then it should extract the image with the closest date/time from the database server -SQL is your best choice as you said-
5- Then the service would broadcast pictures/data back to the user
6- The user can make the client app to make regular requests -eg. 1 frame/5 seconds- with the same mechanism as above.
But I think you already have done that?? What is your question?? You shouldn't notify the client(s) if the is available new pictures because the definition of "new" is put by the client based on the last picture they have recieved. Request based service is the best model I can think of, besides terrabyte programs like Google earth and MS Virtual Earth work this way. why don't you like it?

Thanks again for all your answers!
Maybe I have thought of this too much....
The system consist of more than 150 cameras all over the country. Today we communicate with these cameras by old modems. In a near future SOME of the modems may be replaced by....something else....e.i. ADSL, GPRS....something with higher transmission speed. Maybe some of the cameras is upgraded also so they can send video stremas instead of todays still images.
So my wish was to find a uniform way to ditribute these pictures despite the underlaying hardware(and thus the framerate).
Polling is defenitely a possible solution, but it will be a lot of polls if manyusers want to see video-sequenses.

lo,
i want to create database in vs2005 dynamicly so i can add and delete collums and rows and tables
the database is than saved in ms access. (so before you run the vs2005 there is nothing in the ms access databas.), but for every new day there is another file where its saved in, so the changes that were made yesterday are kept in a file like a log.
i went searching on the web but i cant find what i am looking for, do you have any tips or links with examples?

i want to draw rectangular on a picture box but it goes back the image!!!
how could i draw rectangular on fire with mouse that comes on the image ???
|
|
|
|

You're probably using CreateGraphics ? Don't.
You have two options.
1 - draw your own image and draw a box over it
2 - draw a box onto the image itself
If you're trying to draw a selection rect with the mouse, then you need option 1, so you can draw above the image, instead of onto it.

I did it , but it goes back of the image.
could u please send a Sample Code about it?
private void Form1_MouseUp(object sender, System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
<br />
this.X2=e.X;<br />
this.Y2=e.Y;<br />
<br />
Graphics dc = this.CreateGraphics();<br />
Pen BluePen = new Pen(Color.Blue, 3);<br />
dc.DrawRectangle(BluePen, X1,Y1,X2-X1,Y2-Y1);<br />
<br />
Brush obj_brush=Brushes.Blue;<br />
<br />
dc.FillRectangle(obj_brush,X1,Y1,X2-X1,Y2-Y1);<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
}

Please, go back and actually READ my response. NEVER use CreateGraphics unless you know exactly what it does, and it's what you want it to do. CreateGraphics could be used for this selection box, IF you didn't use a picture box. But the picture box is being invalidated, and so your box is being deleted. Either way, I prefer not to use such expensive hacks, I draw it all in my paint method.

the upper one is the JavaScript code and the lower one in HTML code that I am using in ASPX file for applying the onmouseover functionality on the login button.
Now I would like to use this button (login) as to navicate to some other page (main.aspx ) after clicking it.
Can somone please tell me the function that I should write in the codebehind page (*.aspx.cs) for doing as above................

|
|
|
|
You can't. You're using HTML, not server controls, so there's no postback and no event being generated for the code behind. You can do it all on the client, or you can change it to use server controls.

There isn't one, but it's easy to write one, it's just a control that sets which tab is selected and draws it differently, and draws the others as links. There's probably one on CP.

hello,
I try to convert a matlab file into dll
but I can't installize the dll;
my questions are:
1) how can I convert a matlab file to dll that can be installize?
2) can I convert a matlab file into C# file?
|
|
|
|
|
Isn't matlab C++ ? Your best bet for .NET interop would be C++/CLI, there's no way to convert C++ to C#.
