Dear Friends,
I have one GridView Control in my .aspx page with C#. I have last field as Status field which is boolean and is bound as checkbox control. Could you please show how can I se wether the user has checked it or uncheked it according to that I want to change the status of all customers record. if the checkbox is checked means the status is trus and i want update his status in the database through gridcontrol. I want to check all the record at one time. Even if possible I would like to give "Select all records" and "Deselect all Records" option also. Your quick response will be highly appreciated.

I am trying to understand how all this referencing works in ASP.NET 2.0 but it seems that this is not written anywhere.
I have a ASP.NET 2.0 application. All the pages are in the root folder. All pages inherits from a class (BasePage) that is inside App_Code (this class inherits the Page class). I also have a MasterPage which all the pages use.
I don't understand why I can't access backend class of aspx page A from aspx page B. They are in the same namespace (all the stuff is in the same namespace) and in the same folder but I can't access it. I only see classes that are in the App_Code folder, the MasterPage and a control that I have registered in the aspx file.
And I can't "see" apsx pages from classes that are inside App_Code too. What's the deal here?
You could "see" other pages in ASP.NET 1.1 why can't I in 2.0?
I would really like to know this, because I would like to have a reference to a MasterPage from my PageBase class (inside App_Code) (if I move the MasterPage.master.cs file to App_Code the page still works but I can't reference controls that are on the MasterPage.master from MasterPage.master.cs).

This is the behavior by design of the ASP.NET 2.0 to support the dynamic compiling. In this case, you may consider the @ Reference directive to link to the class of the web page or web user control, and the MasterType for the master page. Another option is to use the Web Project 2005 instead of the built-in web site template to create an ASP.NET application.

So by using the @Reference I would have all my aspx.cs files in App_Code and aspx files would reference those classes and I would have to ommit the CodeFile parameter, right?

Actually, the Reference[^] directive provides you with an way to link a web page/user control to the web page/user control that contains this directive. For example, if you want to call the class of the Page1.aspx from the Page2.aspx, you would normally use the Reference directive to get reference to the Page1.aspx (the CodeFile attribute is still being used in this case).
To get reference to the web page/user control's classes from the classes put in the App_Code folder, putting the soure files in the App_Code, ommiting the CodeFile attribute (but the Inherits attribute is still) is an option. Another option is that you can define the base class for the web page with custom properties so that you can pass the current page to this base class before calling its members.

Im looking for a light wieght "csharp discussion board" for asp.net like the one code project.com is using ive seen a vb script version but its a bit too messy for me, a, nice .net version will do me great. please note i dont want a forum type one only a light version will do me good.

i'm tired from searching over the web for MagicAjax help.
I have 3 main problems with MagicAjax.
1- DataGrid imagebuttons(delete,update,edite,cancel) when (this case when mode in web config ="Nostore")
2- when i click a link button in a regular panel to show another panel
..it doesn't work.
3-when i click the edit button of the datagrid of a pageindex i>0
the index is not preserved ( this case when mode in web config="session")
these r my problems that no one reply to me allways.

Hi,
I am using datagrid in a datalist. in of the datalist i have put the datagrid. so that when the page is loaded i should see the data of datalist as well as datagrid.
In my datagrid there are 2 button "edit" and "delete".
when i want to edit the record in datagrid i am not able to get the selectede index of the datalist.
how to solve this problem that i should get the selected index of the datalist when i want to edit the item in the datagrid.
*******I do not want to put the datagrid in selected item template of the datalist.**********

My problem is as follows:
My DB (Access / SQWLExpress) contains empty fields.
I am using the AccessDataAdapter/SQLDataAdapter with Gridview and Detailsview.
All Textfields of the DB may contain empty strings. CancelselectonNullParameter is set to false.
As soon as a field of a dataset (in the DB) is empty, updates of this dataset is not possible. No error is thrown.
When the dataset does not contain empty fields I am able to update any changes even when I clear this field.
The attribut ConvertEmptyStringToNull="True|False" does not change the behaviour.
Has anybody got an idea?

Please use DBNull and see if it is working. In cases like yours , we store the query in the string datatype the then send the string to the DB. I am afraid in that cases null is also treated as empty string.

Found the solution. The issue lies within the automatic created queries when configuring the datasource. When updating to an empty field, the original value is compared to a string. This gives an error (without throwing one) in the database and no update is done!!

Hi,
I am having a lot of problems trying to get a stored procedure on a DB2 database to work.
I tried looking on the web, nothing.... or I am just blind out of frustration.
From what I could see, and my debugging, the code is fine... What happens is, my function runs the following code, and should return a value if successfull. However, when I go view my db2 database, it shows that the Stored Procedure has not run. But from my code, it looks like it did. Anyone who can help me out, PLEASE?

I don't see any reason why it will not work for the first time. Is the page is getting posted back or simply nothing is happening.

Here you can do like this:
